| Dickie wright going to press saying Cas fans never cause trouble and should be allowed to stand in the north stand. WTRLFC were right in the first place and should never have backed down to wrights pathetic rantings, EDIT:

| Quote: PHe "Why were the glass bottles and tin cans allowed through the turnstiles. At a previous home game there was an announcement to the effect that people would not be allowed to enter the ground with them. What's the use of paying lip service to Health and Safety, it should have been policed at the turnstiles.'"
One of the stewards took half a dozen cans away early in the game.
Just for clarification i don't know if the came from Cas or Wakey fans but they got them into the ground somehow.

| Always a shame that 99% of well behaved people have their enjoyment (probably the wrong word with the performance from our lot) spoiled by a few idiots.
Probably caused by a combination of small little things:
1. Never been easier to have a drink at Belle Vue, and especially when selling off out of date stock cheaply.
2. An evening kick-off on a day off for most, and advertising you could watch the other TV games in Cats and drink there all day.
3. The nonsense over segregation. I an many other Wakey fans were stood in the 'away' section, and many Cas fans in the 'home' bits. Never any need to whip up a fuss about it nor bother with it in the first place.
4. Not sure the whole 'The City Is Ours' thing played a part, most will just ignore it but it could have whipped up some idiots who are easily swayed by stuff like that. (Made no sense as a tagline anyway)
As I say though, shame the idiots spoil it, don't think I can recall seeing that many police and vehicles at a game. Sad. Very sad.

I think the people who run this site may disagree with that.
I'm all for it myself but sorry we can't go down that route.

| It was always the game I was expecting trouble. I think the club has to cop a lot of the blame, for the following reasons:
1. Started the "lets go north" campaign, encouraging all the home fans to stand where the away fans always stand, with the opening weekend of it being a Good Friday derby in the evening.
2. Issue instructions that sounded like they were being segregated in the least favourable part of the ground to stand, and so antagonised Cas.
3. Issued a "clarification" statement, stating in fact Cas fans would be allowed a third of the north stand, but then allowed them more than half.
4. Did not get sufficient stewards. I was in Chav Corner, and the line looked pretty thin.
5. Had a 7.30pm kick-off.
Had this been a noon kick off, would have been fine, but it had been building up to this all week.

| Frankly it doesn't surprise me either. When I read comments on here about 'let's make the north stand ours' it seemed quite likely trouble would ensue. I was in my comfy seat in the East Stand though and saw no bother from there, so not gonna say too much more; left before the end to avoid trouble, as did a number of folk sat around me. Once the decision was made to segregate we should have stuck to it; it was the correct one in my view and I am surprised we backed down.

The photo is on facebook, taken by a friend, who came close to having HER front teath knocked out by this t#8t..and his mates and other family members...
He will be reported to both clubs on monday morning and a photo of him will be sent to WTW.
The said lad played a huge part in the violence seen tonight.
As for his name or naming him,i shall not,not on here.

At other grounds eg Hull, Wigan supporters are 'searched' for bottles and cans, including looking in bags etc. prior to ground entry. I suspect that the north stand terrace will be littered with the aforementioned items.

| Most say the north stand generates great atmosphere is was rocking until the we saw how disinterested the WTRLFC players were. Get the team performing and the north stand will back them up, it's a great addition to the ground.

I've never even tried to take cans of pop into BV , used to get searched all the time.

I did not get any of cas fans as not 1 around me caused any trouble. If they had I wudda as there is zero need for fights and aggressive attitude. My sister was very scared of the gang around us, we did complain to a steward but he said 'don't care put it in writing love' so I will!
Go to wakey every year & never seen anything like it. I love banter at game makes it better. But people who throw beer, punches or bottles arnt true RL fans.

Oh yeah. sweet and innocent Cas had nothing to do with it!
It wasn't that bad really and we were stood in the middle of it, speaking to some Cas fans who thought it was ridiculous as well.
Bear in mind if it had been football then there would have been a bloodbath, at this game there were maybe what, 30 people ejected, no one seriously hurt (though I did see a chap with claret running from his forehead quite early on)
Just a shame we lost tbh
