| Quote: The Avenger "If Tanginoa goes to Warrington they’ll play him as a right side second row and use him in much the same way as they used Ben Murdock-Masila. The likes of Williams and Widdop will get the best out of his ability, we’ll see him making busts and tearing holes in defences again.
He’s been mismanaged at Trinity and while it may have been out of a necessity it’s still very poor'"
Excuses excuses, he's been pee poor that's what he's been. You really must be his agent.
Also, not in the same class as Ben Murdock-Masila, not even close imho.

| Quote: Trojan Horse "If you go back to end of 2020 he repeatedly got MOTM performances and made the dream team. You don’t do that by being largely ineffective. He was one of the best second rowers in the comp. He used to charge out and put some real bell ringers on in defence too. That was end of 2020 at second row.
Pre season 2021 we were struggling to recruit at prop and he’s played almost every game there since. As you say he has been ineffective but in my opinion he wasn’t ineffective at SR.
The very odd game he has been moved to SR he has played better than at prop but we still haven’t seen anything like the form he showed on arrival. It will take a string of games to get back to that I fear. He may be ruined now unfortunately so I’m with you I’d probably rather see a spot and salary freed up.'"
But that's 2020 and it will be 2023 if/when he plays for Warrington and pushing 30. Also in 2020, there wasn't much competition for MOM was there with half a team missing but I grant you he played well, mainly at prop

He’s been mis managed, that’s evident.
You fail to grasp or wantonly refuse to recognise that playing him out of position has negatively affected his game and destroyed the blokes confidence.
I never suggested he was in the same class as BMM, that’s in your head and no where else.
I said Warrington would look to play him in the same way

I don’t disagree that we are talking almost 2 years ago since he was in any kind of form which is why I think it’s worth exploring options with him if we aren’t going to use him properly.
It’s either my memory or yours failing but I’m 99% sure his string of good performances were in left second row end of 2020 for a long string of games when Ashurst was out long term injured. This is the period he got in dream team at SR not at prop.
I think he mainly started playing prop exclusively in 2021 when Ashurst was back to fitness. I certainly recall him being very good at SR then bang average at prop ever since he was moved there to this day.
We would have had a real player on our hands if he’d stayed at SR but I think it’s too far gone now. The reality is that we took a dream team standard second rower and gambled trying to turn him into a prop and have ended up ruining him to the point he’s looking average. The answer is simple, get him back to left SR where he’s effective or look to see if there’s interested parties. He’s not a prop, he’s filling in at prop. I se to recall it only being temporary and Chester saying as much because there were no props available.
It’s a real shame but I put his current form squarely at the feet of the coaching team.

| I'd hardly say Tanginoa is bang average at prop.
I like him at second row but he isn't perfect there either. We lose some of the defense Ashurst brings.
But if the new prop is anything like ready to play, I'd happily have him coming off the bench into the second row to smash some tired wide defense.

I’d be happy with that too. He’s been away from SR for so long that he would need to find his mojo back there and it wouldn’t be instant. I’d happily see Ashurst and Tanginoa interchange at SR.
To be honest I would say Tangikoa is bang average at prop. He is a strong bloke but that’s relative to who he’s making his drives against. He gets stopped with ease running into opposition forwards through the middle. He would make far more line breaks (like he used to) and metre gains running at the gaps between the centre/second row/halfs. I just think we haven’t being using him correctly.
I used to think he was our best forward but now he’s just solid at best.

No I don't, it's only the opinion of you and a few others who are obsessed with this. I think he could play both equally well or badly. However, as a player, he should be happy to play wherever his club tells him to play. There are numerous players at Trinity who play numerous positions, what makes this player so special? He's not that specialist!

That’s the problem because our squad is so thin we use the players available to fill gaps even those that are not suitable. We have the example of Leeds at home where we played two forwards in the centres which did not go too well. I doubt you would play TJ at prop or in the forwards. He is a specialist winger and Tanginoa is a SR, he actually does what you want by covering at prop to the detriment of his own game. The flip side is that he is not used to the best of his ability. I remember you had the same opinion of Fifita who you hoped would go to Catalan because you didn’t think he was given everything to the club.
It is not the players fault that we were light at prop that falls into the club’s domain and hopefully the belated signing of Butler will free up Tanginoa to play where he contributes the most.

What a shocking example quoting the Leeds the game, we had circa 9 backs out for one reason or another. We had one recognised centre (Croft) who had played one reserve game after a 12 month lay off.Nothing to do with squad size, you cant reasonably prepare for a one off situation like that. And you yourself posted the comment below on the evening of the gameThis time we can’t blame the coach he can only play what has and what he has is not a lot. The glaring gaps in the centres are obvious to everybody but what can you do when you have to play two forwards.

Why don't we have the two regular centres?

Obsessed!
Don’t be ridiculous, it’s just a statement of opinion, nothing more and nothing less. When the same subject comes up I’ll express the same opinion
I think he’s shown himself to be happy to play wherever he’s selected, unless you can point to a link where he’s indicated differently?
That doesn’t preclude him from losing confidence by being constantly played out of position.
Your whataboutery argument holds no water at all, other players do play out of position, however some of them are utility players and some only play out of position for the odd game or so.
You say he’s not that specialist, that clearly betrays your lack of understanding IMO

| I see that Josh Bowden is now surplus to requirements at Hull and likely to be released? Haven't heard much of him recently but Hull are flush with some top class props so maybe just not getting game time and even less likely to feature now that Taylor is back. 6' 7" and 110 kg.
Rumour is he's likely to drop to Championship with Leigh or Featherstone.
