That is not the point PT what he said was whilst MC was in charge which was inaccurate don’t you agree. If he had specified a period he may have been correct but he didn’t so he was wrong.

He was inaccurate yes.
A more accurate description is, since MC took over and got the books in order after we nearly went under. We haven't sold any stars.

Seems a bit of a ridiculous point though.
MC had to correct the errors that had gone before before he could really be criticised for selling players.

This is ridiculous.

When MC took over all players were effectively OOC because for those with a short memory we were insolvent after Mr Glover.

Amor and others had to go as we restructured which took about 18 month.

From 2015 onwards we have not let a single contracted player leave unless we wanted to. OOC players are different, you offer what you can and leave it too the player.

The retention of TJ, Tanginoa and Fifita despite intense competition tells it all. Ted for all I liked him would have flogged all three.

Second time round we released him for being an idiot. First time we sold him to Salford to pay the tax bill.

Wasn’t that under Glover? Although I admit the Ted - Glover - Carter timeline escapes me at times.

The second time which is what I’m on about was 2015 and it’s 2015 and beyond that I’m on about.

We have not been a selling club since the end of the 2015 which to any fair minded person was when MC had got full control of the club financially.

I assume we no longer sell because we no longer live beyond our means.

No Smith was sold just after Carter had taken over. But yes its fair to say in recent times we have managed to keep hold of our key players, probably for the first time in my time watching them

That correct. I don’t see how any fair minded person could criticise MC in his first few seasons, he was fire fighting.

As I say since 2015 I have felt confident that we would not sell players who wanted to stay, which appears to be most of them.

No club can stop players who want to leave but we no longer seem to actively encourage them.

It is nothing to do with MC it is all to do with you who seems to change the boundaries of your statements to fit your arguments. Why don’t you just try to say what I originally posted was wrong and this has been pointed out to me. It is much easier than trying to twist the situation because you made no reference to a time period just that MC had never sold a star player whilst he has been in charge.

Being a pedant is the sure sign of someone who’s lost the argument.

Despite you’re attempts to twist things the general thrust of my argument, regardless of exact dates, is that we are no longer a selling club and have not been so once MC gained financial stability.

Are you disagreeing with that? Or are you arguing for the sake of it?

Quote: vastman "It’s only all out war in the eyes of two posters as far as I can see.

Whenever Wakefield do well so called RL sites and opposition fans suddenly zone in a player, this time it’s Lino.

When you think that since MC took over we haven’t lost a single star player who was under contract then it gets tedious.

Frankly some people will believe anything no matter how unlikely so long as it’s a negative.'"

Is this what you posted which clearly states that since MC took over we haven’t lost a single contracted star player. I have shown we have but apparently I have lost the argument because I should have known you were referring to a period when he was in control but after the club had offloaded several contracted players to reduce the wage bill. If you had said this then yes you would have been correct but you didn’t so you are wrong, which appears to be a position you find difficult to accept.
I think what you should do is just stop digging because you cannot be correct when the evidence is clear disproving your statement. This was an angle you tried when you said that MC had sacked both Agar and Webster which was also untrue but once again you came back saying that they jumped before they were pushed no they weren’t they resigned but you would not accept this.
If anybody looks to twist the facts to cover up their obvious failings it is you.

Correct.

It was also a dream move for Amor, don’t think it would have mattered who was in charge I seriously doubt anyone could have stopped him going.

Some fans need to accept that not every player leaving is the fault of the club, it’s a free country.

I'm afraid you are arguing with yourself now.

As a pedant myself I understand what you are saying and you are technically right, but we all know that wasn't the intention of the post.
So you are right if that helps you let this go, but unfortunately, the point Vastman was trying to make which he has clarified is also right.
There isn't really anything left to argue about.
