Quote: TheDreadnought "Way too often do we show up for 60 minutes playing abysmal rugby and decide to show some resiliency in the last 20 minutes, it makes for some great finishes but sadly more often than not its the other team who take the two points.'"

But it’s an improvement on previous years when we’d simply roll over. There’s no doubt that first half was poor but in the end we could have won the game.

We do need to start games better I admit, we are notoriously slow starters.

Quote: vastman "You clearly don’t understand sport.

We were pretty poor fo 60 mins and had a few decisions go against us. No doubt we were second best. What matter though is despite being off the pace we found enough resilience to nearly win! What part of this don’t you get?

We may not be a champion team but we are clearly a team. In the long run that’s what matters. We will hit a purple patch and when we do our resilience could make all the difference.

It was also abundently clear that in the second half Gigot found his feet more and we improved dramatically.

Imho Gigot probably cost us the game. However I remember a certain Fifita’s home debut being just as dreadful but that turned out well in the end.

We’ve lost our HB, we have in Arona, Fifita, TJ and Tupou still recovering in playing terms from long injuries. These are key players. Things don’t happen overnight.

Added to that some key players were missing in Ashurst, Batch, Hampshire and Westerman to name but three. It was a patchwork team in some ways. Why they were missing I do not know.'"

So it is but it could easily be five or six. We don’t know our best team in fairness. We have a lot of players who as I say recovering, some past their peak and some like your own lad a few years off their peak.

Be interesting to see the team we end the season with, people need to be patient. With no relegation this is the year to try stuff and CC was brave to give Max a go and he did ok. So there are always chinks of light.

Yeah but over all Wigan deserved the win.

Quote: TheDreadnought "Not our 55% first half set completion? Tanginoa’s multiple knock ons? Kay’s inability to take the first ball Lynne threw his way? Tangata’s decision to keep his hands on the Wigan forward and keep him off balance when trying to get up and play the ball?

Just a little snippet from your recent response to my mate Willzay

No on a tight game he did cost us as he was at the heart of nearly all the crucial errors, don’t see how you can argue that. I agree Tanginnoa ran him close but he’s an impact player and knock ons are a part of that style of play.

I’m not writing Gigot off, he’s a talented player and in the last twenty looked far better. But on the day he was the weak link, happens to the best.

I don’t agree, his game was poor at the same time as everybody else’s. When the team started to perform things then fell into place.

Wasn't it a superb weighted kick from Gigot that Tom Johnstone scored from, poor Gigot, I think not . Correct me if i'm wrong but I was momentarily distracted at the time watching on tv.

Dont think the result matters this season its just disappointing to know we could have snatched that one.
We just seem to coast along and occasionally show some very encouraging signs, but mainly its a frustrating end to most sets and watching a team that very rarely gets out of second gear.
The squad on paper looks fine its just getting your first choice team on the park and sorting our best half back pairing out

One observation I did make was that our fitness levels looked good right up to the final minute.

Did you only watch the last 20 minutes by any chance? Because we were sluggish for the first 60
