From what I can see literally every sporting match in the country was called off, apart from the Sheffield United game for some reason. |

Indeed.
It's unbelievable that anyone can blame the club. Mind you, they're probably the same ones who would want to claim is the were hit with any flying debris or rubbish.
The pitch will have been unplayable and whilst we do seem to have "played in worse" over the years, these decisions are not taken lightly.
I'm sure that everyone, from both clubs, would much rather that the game had been played today. |

Leeds June 2016, Castleford march 2018 , Hull KR feb last year all played in worse weather. If it was safe then, then what's different? It was also dry with hardly no wind or rain from 2pm to 4:30 pm.

Not sure you getting it but the postponement appears to be out of the club's hands more specifically an inspection by the officials this morning!

The only conditions I've seen worse than at 11am this morning when it was postponed with a forecast showing worse was to come was when we played Widnes in March 2018. Sods law the best part of the day was 1500 to 1700, but that's hindsight for you.

I was in Sheffield up to lunch time.
It absolutely banged it down at 12.00 but seemed to stop pretty quick.
Lots of flooding coming back towards the motorway though.
United are on a different Sheffield hill though. |
