Who's paying for this? I'm amazed none of you have mentioned Tangata for the Marshall 20m restart try. He's in a fine position to make a tackle, then none of us would be talking about it. Instead of making the tackle he opts to ignore Marshall running towards him and complain to the ref instead. Playing to the whistle is u12s stuff.
I agree it's shouldn't have been awarded by the way, and that the first try was a knock on by Sarginson. However, the BJB one wasn't grounded and I don't see a double movement in the Powell one. The pass looks OK for your other try IMO. So we had two incorrect tries, you had one. Purely looking at points we therefore win 12-10, but I appreciate the 'different game if that doesn't happen' argument, particularly as our two incorrect tries were from long range.

The tap call was massively infuriating.
We see the tap have to be re taken in just about every game of the season and he wasn't even close to the mark.
He took a chance and got away with it but, it's an absolute howler by the ref.

U12s clubs usually install good fair play ethics as a discipline and junior refs and players will know where a restart will be taken from according to the rules of the game.

IMO...at the game and looking from the Northstand, the gap Marshall went through looked wider than it does on that camera angle from the highlights and don’t think Tangata was close enough to lay a hand on as it happened so quickly...you’ve a forward trying to get back into position against a winger on the run who changes direction at the last second when he spots the gap!
Why can’t we have video ref at every game? How much do you think this would cost in this day and age, seriously?
BJB looked to get it down to me from the trinity tv footage from behind the goal...on the sky sports highlights and at the game looking from behind I didn’t think it was a try but looks fine from the other footage from behind the sticks...
Same with Powell’s...looks ok from behind on sky sports highlights but at the game in the Northstand it looked the most blatant double movement you will ever see?

| Can anyone say where the referee should stand at a restart. Not sure myself but surely not directly opposite where the play should take place. So if Mr M got that part correct and stood 6, 7, 8 metre from the centre then that makes it ideal for Marshall to run straight at the referee.

Video ref at every game should have been from the very inception of super league. Another inconsistency and another contribution to there not being a level playing field.

Video ref - it's done from a van outside, you'll need more vans, whatever equipment goes into them, possibly more big screens? Not sure if they move from stadium to stadium or not. You then need more of whatever equipment allows the ref to communicate with the video ref, engineer on standby to set it up and quickly fix it midgame if it breaks, more cameras, people to operate them, people to show the video ref the footage he needs at the speed he needs it, all under time pressure. You also then more top level referees to act as video ref, be paid to officiate, mileage etc. I don't know how much that all costs but do know it won't be insignificant and the RFL is skint as it is.

| Remove the quick tap and make it a PTB at the centre spot.
If the refs can't keep up with the speed of play, then it needs to be slowed down

| Having watched the SL show, I'd say
First Wigan try dubious. Need full angles to be sure. Probably a try
Ditto Batchelor try
Wigan tap restart and BJB definitely no tries.
In fact the last two are scandalous decisions and ref needs a sound chat at HQ.
For the tap he runs at the ref. How on earth did he let that go? Staggering decision.
But we only have ourselves to blame. All three tries the result of errors. All in a game we matched Wigan every step of the way in.

Are you suggesting that no Wakefield player has ever tried to take a tap off the mark? Or no one at under 12's level? Not quite sure of your point here.
Absolute howler by the ref btw. Not the first and won't be the last.

I was in the flats so had a different angle and the first Wigan try certainly looked like a knock on. I'd have to watch it again on Trin TV though but it certainly looks different than the official TV highlights angle.
We thought the BJB try wasn't yet after watching the highlights you can see the in touch official and the linesmen were both very close with good views, so you could say it was the decision of 3 officials that it was a try. If it was a televised match then I guess we'd really know.
The tap 20 though is no dispute, one of the worst errors by a ref I've ever seen in over 30 years of watching the sport. Inexcusable.

| Well, being dropped to championship to ref for one week really rectifies that situation, "wheeell" - still I suppose I will have to abide by the Ganson rule, & respect he was right !
Get over it until next time ( like next 2 weeks ) sorry about the sarcasm, I feel better now !

3rd in the table behind, Bradford player tackled 2 yds short and try awarded, and first Hanley dropping the ball behind the posts and try given.
