What's his Twitter username? When I looked, the account of the owner of 88M has no tweets and 17 followers (could be a fake account).

Yes I suppose it is. I don’t think he realises in Yorkshire it is best to get straight to the point, all this cryptic tweeting with no apparent sign of progress just gets people’s backs up

Main reason for joining is i decided to email Wakefield Council about the stadium and wanted to share their response but I just want to make sure im not breaking any forum rules by doing so?

The way he keeps tweeting these little snippets of "wisdom" suggests that's exactly what he's trying to do. A few people have asked him to back up his "tweets" but he choses not to, make of that what you will.

| The ones before that sound like digs at the club. "At some point there is no excuse. You either want to do everything to make it happen or you don't" and "You can't rush something you want to last forever" and "Even miracles take a little time"
He does realise that we have been stalled to a dead-end once before, and the RFL are less patient than he is?

I can't see anything in the AUP that would prevent you doing that (other than making sure any personal details are removed).
Others, including myself have shared responses from WMDC and Councillors in the past.
I'd certainly be interested in seeing your letter and the response.

| Thanks Fordy.
My email to them was quite lengthy with loads of quotes from Council press releases etc so i wont bother posting that but i raised some key questions which are included in their response below1.How is the Council ensuring this project progresses as quickly as you have stated in your press releases?
Officers of the Council have undertaken some initial work on the potential requirements to enable delivery of a community stadium, including specifications and footprint required, high level assessment of capital and operating costs, independent valuation of land holdings at Belle Vue and consideration of potential funding opportunities this includes funding from Newmarket Development. Further work is ongoing on detailed viability analysis including economic viability and outline business plan and undertaking sequential assessment on the site options to aid the Trust in its decision making. Given the ongoing and potential involvement of the Council in this project, it is in the process of establishing a new charitable trust which will be tasked with delivering this project and becoming the long lease holder of a new community stadium. I am sure that you will appreciate that a new community stadium that will be managed and operated by a Trust which will be home to anchor tenants has to be sustainable as a community stadium and run in accordance with the Charity’s Commission requirements.
2. Have Wakefield Council been in contact with Michael Carter in relation to the project since last year?
The Council has been in dialogue with Wakefield and District Community Trust of which Michael Carter is a Trustee in addition to this there has been electronic communication with the owner of Wakefield Trinity.
3. Given the obvious and publicly stated support of the proposals, what are Wakefield Council doing to push 88m and the project forward? The Council has been in dialogue with relevant land/property owners to explore options to purchase/lease of land/buildings capable of hosting the community stadium and on what terms and conditions this could be facilitated."
To me this reads as generic rubbish and next to nothing has been done since the proposals were made public in August last year. I wonder how much work was undertaken before the plans were released if they are still working on footprints and funding. I find it unbelievable/confusing that they state they haven't even got an agreement over the land with 88m yet.
I replied to this email last week and still await a response.

I hope you asked why they deemed it necessary to do this, when MANY years ago they THEMSELVES set up a trust to deliver a new community stadium..
What a bunch of........

I've sent numerous emails to my local councillors and WMDC and they have always shown me the discourtesy of NEVER replying. Response you received sounds like a lot of waffle as you would expect from our disinterested council.

That's the key to it all, I guess. They will work with Rodney's new Trust only, not yet established, and will charge full market rent, as determined by Rodney's Trust. Easy to set out terms that they know one party won't agree to, thus enabling them to blame that party. Now, remind me, how's that green belt land at Newmarket looking these days?
