| I suppose we could put a positive spin on it, while we are doing things right there's bound to be allsorts or rumours, links and "offers" for our players. Fortunately MC has got most of them under contract, not that we're a selling club anymore.

| Why is it that whenever the club gets set on a steady course there is always someone ready to rock the boat???? How long does TJ have left on his contract; is it two more years???? In the past I've often seen these silly, unlikely rumours become fact. and it has usually involved Leeds RLFC!! Bob Haigh, David Jeanes, David Smith spring to mind.

I think in the old days it wasn't really a surprise each time Leeds, or any one else for that matter, poached our best players. The biggest shock for me was Willie Poching going to Leeds when he did.

It's a lousy thing to do to someone, it's really low imho - however I reckon your OK with MC as he is very much non anonimous on purpose imo
Nah, mate not this time It was someone using MC by his name, that's all. That's why asked about using MC still.

| sorry guys but the thing about him going to the nrl was posted on several websites and also in the paper over here so it surely is just a little bit more than somebody starting a rumour?
this is what this forum is for though isn't it to discuss things exactly like this?

| Wouldn't sell him to another SL team unless it was for a lot of money (like build a stadium money). I'd be happy for him to give the NRL a shot though. Wigan seem to let a lot of their players go over there with their blessing and they're generally back at Wigan within a year or two since it usually doesn't work out.

What's the NRL got to do with it they are not the mafia, stop being so melodramatic! Plenty of SL players have refused offers from Australia it's not the be all and end all. A lot of people, myself included prefer this country, I do and I lived in Oz for a number of years.
That said I suspect TJ to be the sort to fancy an NRL stint but not just yet. I reckon he'll be quite happy in SL and probably with us for a few years yet.

That's how I see it too.
I think he still has a long contract doesn't he ? but besides that, I think Tom seems to be enjoying himself here! In fact, do we have a discontented player? probably not!

I know there was a troll posting a few weeks back referring to Vastman by a first name, that poster has not posted since so i am guessing it`s that poster Poptart was referring to.

| If any player wishes to go to the NRL if have no issues with this, its the whole life experience as much as anything. If this scenario does happen though, I would ensure that we have first refusal on the players return to super league. I imagine this is what Wigan must do with their players as they all appear to return,

Ridiculous... I didn't see him refer to the NRL as the mafia.
You might be right, plenty of players might of refused contracts to play in the NRL but the offers won't keep on coming for the rest of his career. There will come a point where he's not seen as the player he is now and they'll look for younger, more talented players.
If there was an option to start a poll on this page I think it would outline this with a simple "yes or no" reply - Put yourself in the shoes on a 22 year old, offered a very hefty salary, in a new and warmer country to play in the best league in the world. I can't see the answer being anything other than yes. Look at the likes of Sarginson and Joe Burgess, he could be back within a year but at least he got the experience of doing it. It's not often you see players at the back end of their career heading over to the NRL like you see in Super League.
