Quote: JINJER "No idea regarding debts but didn't MC Tweet or post last year that he'd thankfully got his house back, which I assumed was saying he/the club had paid its loan off so the house wasn't being used as collateral. You wouldn't thought he'd be putting money into the club in such large numbers if there was no debt to service.'"

There is debt then there is debt. I don't know where that figure comes from but if you chuck every conceivable historic debt into one and then say that is money owed to the directors then maybe. Of course Trinity is a limited company and as such most of that would be written off if we went bust.

I suspect some of that money was secured but not 800k and it's secured debt that they will have to honour - hence his relief at getting his house off any agreements.

You know belly makes a good point then because he thinks we are a bit slow he massively over exaggerates.

I reckon MC has a fair wedge invested but it won't be that much also I do believe glover is srtill owed some but he won't call it because he dare not.

MC`s and the other chap`s house were used to secure the loan from the RL that was required to pay of debt when MC took over. This was debt run up by the windows man. The loan from the RL was somewhere in the region of £ 450,000, it was paid of on a monthly basis. It has now been paid off so MC and his fellow director have their houses released from being used as security.
I understand that the £ 800,000 was the amount of money loaned to the club by directors to cover the loses up until the start of 2016, paying wages when required etc etc. Maybe that figure has remained at £ 800,000 as the RL loan has been repaid ? Maybe with the pathetic crowds it is now bigger.
All I know is that without our directors there would not be a club to support,

Quote: bellycouldtackle ". Add to that the many thousands that reportedly have to be spent to get BV fit for next season

Yes we get a visit anytime soon I believe. They always find something wrong that is expensive to put right. Last year it was the crash barriers and thanks to Snowie and his pals we got this done on the cheap. This season will be something else which will cost us a decent six figure sum. WE CANT GO ON LIKE THIS SEASON AFTER SEASON !!!!

Although we have a new ground owner who is prepared to allow us to stay, I am sure he is not prepared to pay the bill for the safety work so the costs have to come from the club and obviously this has a huge detrimental effect on our player budget.

Some people seem to think Yorkcourt may provided funds but I wouldn't bank on that.

While ever we have Belle Vue in its current state this club is going to fall futher and further behind the rest of SL

How does anyone know what the Directors debts are atm, apart from MC saying he's got his house back. Don't think there's been any published Accounts for the past couple of years.

Don't know how MC projected this last seasons crowd, but I'd suspect he'd be conservative and even though we still need about another 1500 people watching us, the average did go up 800 this year.

They do, it was towards the end of 2015 season when the directors were getting stick for not spending money on players, marketing, the ground, not reducing ticket prices, not letting students in for free etc etc that MC answered criticism, I think it was an audience with evening, and he gave out a few facts. I seem to remember at about the same time he also went to meet supporters in Normy and they reported that the directors were financing the losses. I forget the split of the loans but I think there were two directors MC and CB plus another supporter who was not a director but gave time and money to see the club survive. I think that accounts will be available on line for at least one of the years that MC has owned and financed the club which will back up my hazy memory. As I say thank goodness for MC and his pals, yes they are there to be shot at by us numpties regarding signing this player and that player etc etc but when it comes to hard cash on the table they have maned up and that for me takes guts. The easy option after the catastrophic shambles that Glover left the club in would have simply been to walk.

Wasn't the reason that MC didn't or couldn't walk, was that he as the accountant in the Glover era and publicly came out and said he hadn't done his job properly?
Shows he's got some morals.
As for the debt to directors, isn't this how most sports clubs operate?
You put a bit in to even things up and before you know it, it turns into a figure that has been mentioned.
The club is the most stable it's been in a long time but will be interesting to see what happens with the supposed needed improvements.

As I understood it, he was helping Glover on a voluntary basis with some accounting functions and it was actually him who spotted the gaping holes in the books - and began to take steps to rectify things.

Yes, he was.

They did have an accounts person in, I believe, but they were only in there, doing the day to day processes, and had no control or authority as to any decision making.

Actually it was me who spotted it straight away, think I called it window dressing and that our squad was way more expensive than suggested. You and others shot me down but I don't blame you as we all want to see the best of a situation icon_wink.gif

anyway the club at least appears stable to me and the cost of the team seems to tally up. However without movement on the stadium and new money I think we have gone as far as we can. Treading water sums it up and perhaps a lucky break on the field.

As much as it pains me to admit it, as I don't like adding fuel to your god complex, you were indeed a Glover naysayer from day one, and never wavered in your belief that it was mainly smoke and mirrors. In some ways, I think MC suffers due to Glover's misdemeanours - fool us once and all that jazz.

I look at it this way, when you make 24,000 posts, the law of averages indicates you are bound to be correct occasionally icon_biggrin.gif icon_heartkiss.gif
