I'm ok with Grix...he's worked with Kear before...he's obviously come at the right price...he offers experience and possibly a bit of off field leadership, as well as being able to cover a number of positions..

On Radio Leeds yesterday Carter backtracked on Chester's aftermatch comments on Friday that they were after five players on top of Caton Brown and Hirst. Carter said that they were considering five in total - two of them being CB and Hirst who have of course already signed.

went to Batley on Saturday V Salford. Hirst showed up fairly well when on the field, didn't seem to play massive minutes but when he was on he made good ground and found a few offloads despite his fairly awkward looking running style. Seemed to have a good positivie influence on his team mates, hopefully he will carry that on and it's not a case of big fish small pond in confortable surroundings at Batley.

One who did catch my eye though was Tom Lillycrop - wasn't he one of ours at one time? Not the biggest by any means but a really strong ball carrier with a huge workrate from what I saw. Wonder if he's in the pipeline for Kear.
