Spot on.
I support Wakefield Trinity, if they play in Wakefield thats great, but if the economics dictate that we have to move so be it.
I'd rather move than die.

Should play at Oakwell at Barnsley if Rotherham Titans didn't get the ground as not promoted. It's only 9 miles down the road within Wakefield District rather than 8 miles into Leeds. The facilities will be much better than South Leeds and loads of capacity with 23,000 than 5/6000 at South Leeds. Probably more expensive though....

I remember back in 2011 when Glover was toying with the idea of moving to Barnsley I'm sure I remember him saying the rent was around £120k a year. A considerable saving on BVs current rates. Will that be offset by the loss in fans?

You obviously mean it's near Wakefield - well Oakwell would be my preference also. I don't think I'm alone here but if the travelling is in the short term ( a couple of seasons maximum) then I don't mind. If we become travellers with no hope then I'm done.

If we are in SL then Oakwell would be my choice as well.
Close to Wakefield, already have fans on the south side of Wakefield, nice stadium (Sky would love it) and superb hospitality facilities which should generate more income than BV although we do quite well now. I also think it would result in more away fans attending because of the facilities and initially the novelty value. Also there is the opportunity to promote the Club in the Barnsley area and do deals on season tickets aimed at Barnsley season ticket holders.
If we are relegated to the Championship then Dewsbury and South Leeds look likely.

| If we were to move out of the Wakefield area would we ever come back, or would we ultimately become "Anytown RLFC"? Should we have to move my choice would be Barnsley. Oakwell has some excellent facilities and there is a healthy amateur RL scene in the area, plus, Trinity have played at Oakwell on more than one occasion in the past. From a purely selfish point of view Oakwell would be nearer than Newmarket, but as a supporter of sixty years standing leaving BV would be a massive wrench.

| What a state the club is in! Nice to see new signings this week, a glimmer of hope remains... but even if we do stay up, the future looks bleak. Without serious investment in the club or the sport as a whole, I dont see how we can have a successful, sustainable future in top flight rugby. I hope MC and his team can turn our fortunes around and wish the club the best of luck in the months to come!

| To move out of Wakefield is risky enough but to have no plan to return will signal the end. I doubt even the majority of our rose tinted brigade would follow under these circumstances.

| I think some kind of plan must be in place. I'm of the glass half full brigade you seem to be the glass half empty and whilst I can't blame you I prefer to look on the more positive side

| For me this move (notice on the ground) is a calculated gamble. Michael Carter is an accountant and as such if imagine he will only gamble when he feels the odds are in his favour. Still a risky move but I do believe a contingency plan will be in place. Could turn out to be a real master stroke if the result is lower rent at belle vue. If it doesn't go to plan then most away fans will be happy to never have to set foot in belle vue again so won't have an excuse for not turning up at wherever we end up playing.

If I was short sighted I could become a referee!: |

| Cannot believe what I read on here! Some of the most prolific posters do not seem to realise that they are a tiny tiny minority of the people who come to games. Crowds are dwindling not just due to poor performances but also to MCs attitude to supporters. Just banning drinks being brought in to the ground lost fans, changing the kick off time lost more, doing away with student tickets lost more , reducing the concession age from 65 to 60 lost more. All of these changes done without consultation with supporters. Now he is prepared to take the club out of the city. Do you really think everyone will accept that! I know someone will post on here that there is no alternative yet only a few weeks ago MC made a statement on the club website about how we would be able to spend more money on players next season because of increased sky money. ? No mention then about not being able to pay the rent. ? What has changed. ?

| With Dewsbury putting a 4th stand in at the moment it might be an option. It does lack tv facilities but would be low cost to rent. Barnsley ticks all boxes apart from being way too big. But I suppose Huddersfield got away with it for years rattling around their stadium. Not sure how it would work with the income with the boxes.
Has anyone mentioned Fev?

| According to this weeks Wakefield Express MC indicated that he would be taking the club further away than Fev or Cas.
