It's all been blown out of preportion happens every match at the football. Nobody was hurt not like the fighting after the match which doesn't get much of a mention of cas been fined.'"
I don't know, do Cas have a suspended fine hanging over their heads for previous trouble like we have??

| Quote: Bullseye "It’s a sad say when you bring in segregation. The majority of fans can and do behave themselves. Why should the majority suffer because of a few idiots who can’t?
TBH fans should be able to stand/sit where they like and not be afraid they’ll get a kicking. 99/100 if you’re not acting like a dick you’ll be fine. I’ve stood in the sounthstand many times (I prefer the view from the sideline) and never once felt threatened despite being an away fan.
The answers for me would be the following, for games against teams where there has been trouble do the following
Bullseye...I agree - it is a sad day when we bring in segregation, but yesterday was the case in point as to why we should !.
As I said previously, it should only be for high-profile games such as this, and not for every match, as I believe Rugby League has a long way to go before it descends into the vitriolic hatred that the "wendy-ball" fans have for each other !!
I disagree with your next point too - the majority wouldn't suffer - the minority of morons who wanted to go and stand amongst the opposition fans would be the only ones who would suffer - from frustration at not being able to goad their like-minded opposition morons into a fight.....the majority would be able to continue their enjoyment of the game !!
I do agree with your other points though

| Quote: John Kear "Timing of the smoke bombs (not flares, jesus christ) was poor. But the reaction has been blown way out of proportion. To ban the young lads from the sport 'worldwide' is pathetic! A bit of smoke burnt for around 10 seconds and didn't cause anyone any bother. No harm done.
I can't believe that some wakefield 'fans' are on here to have a whinge rather than celebrate a derby win!'"
What is pathetic is your attempt to dismiss this as nothing. The club have a suspended fine hanging over them from the incident with Widnes previously and this "nothing" incident will probably cost the club £10,000. Still think it's not worth worrying about?? Will you still feel that way if we have to let someone go to cover the cost of paying the fine?? or if we get an injury and there is no money in the pot to go out and get a loan player in because we've had to spend it on this??
Banning them is not pathetic, it is the right thing to do. What they did was dangerous whether you think it was or not and is also not allowed inside sports stadia (just because you've seen it on TV in football matches doesn't make it OK).
And I suggest you might like to invest in a new watch if you thought that was only 10 seconds.

Sorry but your world is a million miles from mine, I guess you probs thing that driving using your mobile should carry the same penalty as genocide
For the record, it is illegal to carry a smoke bomb/firework/flare (all items treated the same) in to a sports stadium and carries a maximum sentence of 3 months, setting off said item in a stadium would also be subject to a 3 months sentence, in football it is a mandatory 3 year ban for carrying out either of the afore mentioned acts. But it's worth noting, this was carried out by 1 or 2 individuals, the events at Leigh sports village involved over 150 "Widnes Fans" (that's how many entered the pitch. to suggest that 2 people behaving like mens genitals is the same as 150+ thugs running riot is ludicrous to say the least
BTW at the time they went off in the ground my initial thoughts were "What gentleman's sausage has done that as regardless of result that will be the headline tomorrow" They need prosecuting to the letter of the law (3 months prison) and banning for 3 years from any sports ground in the UK

| Quote: FIL "Segregation has got to be the only answer for big games like this, otherwise this is what happens. Would any of us go in the South Stand at Headingley ???...of course we wouldn't as we would likely get a good kicking, and you could say the same for most away grounds, so if Cas allow their home fans to stand in the away end at matches such as this, then I'm afraid this will always happen - fierce local derby, passionate fans, too much alcohol
Segregation is for the football idiots
rugby league is about good nature and family values
We managed without segregation and I don't see why we need to do it now
Promotion of tolerance and respect are what are needed

What a ridiculous comment, you've never met me and you're making judgements against me, go on, explain this stupid comment to me.

Feel free to go and promote tolerance and respect amongst a bunch of aled up idiots intent on bother; it'll get you absolutely nowhere.
Better still - promote it when 20 grand of your own brass rests on the success, or otherwise, of your efforts.
Bigger picture - whilst this was far from an IS terror attack, it was inexcusable and any attempt to downplay it is ridiculous; whomever was responsible should be identified, banned and the case handed over to the rozzers for any further action.
As for the fisticuffs on the way out - the case for segregation is further strengthened; I've been to this fixture in the past with 2 small kids in tow and the fact that a few Cas fans enter the 'away' end with the express purpose of winding up visiting fans and causing some bother is troublesome; I don't mind copping one if I have to, but I'd rather my kids didn't have to a) witness it and b) get caught in the crossfire.
This fixture is too incendiary - it should be segregated at both grounds; misty-eyed (and false) sentimentality about the RL family has no place in the debate; neither does libertarian claptrap about being able to stand where you want - you can't stand where you want, you can stand where the person who owns the place you're standing in tells you to stand.

My post explains the clear difference and the comparisons, you seem to be struggling with that concept as well

Last word from me on this spat, but you really shouldn't be condescending to people when you use the word thing instead of think, hope that helps.

| Out of a crowd of nearly 11k in a derby game and ending the way it did, I would say four folk having a ding dong and a couple of kids high jinx by managing to smuggle a smoke bomb in is pretty good really.
I agree with some other posters that yesterday was certainly one of the best natured cas wakey games for a good few years, particularly ones that we have won.
Most definitely a world away from the gauntlet of fighting outside the boot room in 2013 at the end of the game, or the year about 100 cas fans invaded the pitch and came up to the railway end giving it the big I am.

| That's not really a good thing.
I have to say there was no trouble where I was.
There was one guy who was clearly tanked up and upset who was shouting at Wakefield fans walking past but everyone just ignored him.
Those people need clearing out but there is no reason to get drawn into it either.

| What is most frustrating here, apart from the possibility of a fine for the club, is the fact that instead of us making headlines for a superb on field comeback (although there are some), just a few misguides fans have ensured that we are getting headlines for a crowd disturbance.
Positive headline = increased home crowds = increased revenue for the club
Negative headline = reduced home crowds = less revenue for the club
Still a great win over our local rivals but, without the positive impact that should have followed.

| There seemed to be a lot more cas fans in the away end in the second half when they thought they had won the game.

| Regards to the fine, didn't MC post what was/wasn't acceptable to take in to our stadium? (Smoke bombs/flares should really be common knowledge that they shouldn't be taken in) so as far as responsibility is concerned, he did all he could on the clubs behalf?
