No it was the case. It was only for the length of the first contract they signed.

The ones mentions by MC are our quota players, we are allowed two more 'non-fed' players with passport exemptions etc on top of that. Sammut has a maltese passport, Tautai samoan and Siejka polish so don't count as quota. Ali doesn't count as he was here pre 2008 when the new rules came in. But we still have 8 overall, 1 too many. Non-fed is all based around where the player played their junior/acadmey rugby i believe.

| Quote: LoyalFan "A scapegoat ?? He was shocking. His kicking game was dire, and he looked very much out of place. Seemed like a one trick pony.
That said... I don't think he could play with Chase. They both wanted to be playmakers. I do recall Robbie Paul saying at the start of the season that Salford would need to play with 2 balls to accommodate them.. Think it was the perfect way to describe the situation.'"
Thats the problem, nobody seems able to play HB with Rangi. He just seems to have been the kiss of death for any one partnering him.

| Just listened to Webbo interview and he says TT has a chance Friday, so answers my earlier question.
So TT has Samoan dispensation, but the current Samoa hooker PG is a quota player, baffling.

| I don't see why were looking into the quota business. The RFL have approved it or the transfer wouldn't of gone ahead.

| Fantastic news this. Organisation and attacking flair will improve ten-fold. I thinkw e really missed Tim organising the structures this season. Although, he does make our defence even weaker man for man.

| I said from the very start Smith would not work at Salford. Their expectation levels are high and if the crowd get on his back Smith will be useless. Smith plays best when he has a positive mind frame if this goes down and keeps going he struggles and then moves on. Similar to Korki you get him reved up with a good crowd he will thrive. This is good news I think Smiths passing is pure class his kicking game is not great but this is what Sammut will add. When Smith left Kirmonds attacking play was left in the darkness a little this will come back now.
Good news

| Sammut is a Maltese legend! He is going over to play Greece next month, also Korki is in the Greek team.

| Just found out that the "Wakefield Magician" is set to return (as I predicted two weeks ago !!). Let's hope that Agar has passed on the keys to the cabinet that still holds Timmy's box of tricks, 'cos he clearly didn't take it to Salford with him !!!!!

| Quite a few people on here, myself included, said that Tim Smith would be all at sea playing alongside Chase - and so it proved.
I'm not sure how we'll look with a sudden surfeit of hb's, but from a business perspective, it doesn't get much better; flog him for 90k, then get him back for the relegation battle at a fraction of the salary. Inspired!

| Would have thought all the paperwork for Smith, if anything was complicated, would have been done in the last fortnight.
Would expect him to go straight into the starting line up.
Can't understand people not wanting him back.
He played his best rugby for ages at Wake and off the back of that, got a really good move for himself.
Unfortunately, that has not worked out for him.
We have moaned about players coming into the team that don't look interested.
Smith obviously, when it was presented to him or we made enquiries, was happy to come back to us.
This shows he wants to play for the club and it's about getting back to enjoying his rugby in an environment that is familiar to him.
