Doesn't make him a bad signing at all and its not because im anti Cas.
Anyway its not official yet.'"
Thought so, I know you rated him when he first broke through. I know your not anti Cas or have any hidden agenda and I get the point you made although I'm not sure Kaye is the best comparison if that's who you meant.

| Providing we aren't paying him what he reportedly earns at Cas then its not a bad signing player-wise, although it is his attitude and conduct that had been the issue in the past. But it's fair enough if he is prepared to knuckle down, put in the effort and keep his nose clean.

| Quote: vastman "Bit of a poor comparison tbh.
Owen is a proven SL with 125 SL games under his belt. Kaye has nowhere near that experience level and has never shown the form Owen did a few years back in his entire career. We had 2 first team games out of Liam! Can we blame Agar, partly but not completely.
So for me I would certainly expect to pay more for Owens services than Kaye's, whether that's a wise investment I can't say until i've seen him play for us.
Also this idea that Kaye is a product of our Academy is a touch spurious IMHO. If I remember correctly he joined us from Bradfords Academy after starting with Leeds quite late in his junior career (1icon_cool.gif. Also he isn't from Wakefield not that this bothers me. To suggest he's a product of our Academy system is pushing it a bit to suit an argument. Someone like Chris Anakin is a better example of a true Academy product.'"
Bad comparison, no not really!
We know what to expect from Owen and IMO he's not much different to Fox, he'll finish tries that are laid on a plate for him but he won't create much on his own, he's a bit dodgy under the high ball, is defensively weak and can have the odd game where he's nothing short of catastrophic.
Liam Kaye on the other hand was making great progress, he was highly regarded at Doncaster and is highly valued at Leigh, while with us he looked a good prospect and handled everything thrown at him including both attack and defence.
On potential alone he was a better option than Owen!
I never mentioned him being one of our own but he would have ticked that box as far as the RFL are concerned, I don't know who made the decision not to negotiate with him but in the long term it was a poor decision.

He won't play for WTW this weekend anyway. Same deal as Kaufusi not been able to play for Bulls against his parent club Hudds. a shame really because the banter he already gets from the Cas fans would certainly be upped a notch or two.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

What is he "reportedly" earning?
I don't think I ever know what a player is earning and I haven't seen any reports.
I'm not criticising, I'm just in the dark on these matters.

| Fox is signed up to WT, Riley can be recalled at anytime so I would say it should be the latter.

| Not a loan signing then, I hope he goes well for the remainder of the season.
With the reduction to twelve teams next season, it’s squeaky bum time for a number of players. Let’s hope he can impress & help pull us out of the mire & earn a new deal.

Sorry but don't agree, for me you're way over rating a player with 2 SL games to his name who frankly know one mentioned on here until he scored a winner against Cas.
Owen has way more RL pedigree regardless of who he plays for - he's a in a different class to Kaye and anyone who knows RL would tell you that. Think you have rose tinted specs on here.
Whether long term Kay would have been the better signing who knows it's pure speculation which is exactly what a prospect is - personally I was a fan of Liams and wished we'd kept him. I'd have preferred that to any Owen deal. However fan of his as I am I can't and won't kid myself that at this moment he's a better player than Owen because he simple isn't if you base it on current and previous form.
