| Agar didn't even half a full pre-season with half of the players. DP did.

Oh my lord - silly me , that must have been the issue! - Just wondering about JK and the great escape - seems he had NO pre season and also did not recruit any of the players. Was it just good luck? or did he put playing structures in place with everyone knowing what their individual and collective responsibilities, along with some motivation and the players having faith in what he introduced.

I wasn't disagreeing or agreeing with you, I was simply stating one difference with DP and Agar.

Can anyone tell me how much time JK had for the gelling process when we were as good as down and pulled ourselves out of the mire - with the same group of players who had been failing week after week. MC is fiddling while Wakefield burns. Agar has compiled a CV of failure both at Hull Wakefield and the France post - omg what a total disaster.'"
Regardless of how long Agar has been with Wakefield, the current squad is still "work in progress", with Sammut, Scrutton and Harry only having been here for a few weeks.
The one aspect that we can agree on, is that lack of "playing as a team" and backing one another up on the pitch.
Kear inherited a team that had been together all season and although they needed guidance and some "coaching", they were far advanced (as a squad) than our current team.
Finally "MC fiddling while Wakefied burns" is nonsense and offensive.
Without MC, Wakefield would be rooted to the bottom of SL or, n a different division.
Most Wakey fans share some of your frustration and many hope that we will soon turn the corner.
It may not be against Cas on Friday but, the performances will improve. Hopefully, with enough time left for us to still be in the top flight !

Just because he's saved us once doesn't mean his obligation stops there. He remains ultimately responsible

The club needs all the fans it can get and with the current coach in place you will see them leaving in their droves. If it wasn't for the fact that I take my dad to the games I certainly would be staying at home even though I have a season ticket. The longer people wait for the mystical "gelling process" to take effect the further we will sink into the mire and this time if we change the coach with 6 games to go then I reckon we wont be as fortunate as we were last time. Its desperate.

To be fair last year a lot of us Cas fans decided we had enough of Millward so against the giants we stayed away from the match then Cas dismissed millward a few days later.

The club needs Supporters. There is a difference.

Of course not, his commitment is on-going BUT, no one else was willing to step in at the time and I think he would still welcome some new investors.
So, up until the point where someone new comes in, he is in charge.
Equally, there is no obligation for the supporters to turn up each week and hand over their hard earned cash and if enough folk stay away, there would indeed be some difficult choices to make.
However, for a club that is short of cash and a coach on a 3 year deal what do you do this change this situation ?
Moving back to Agar, he was considered the best candidate for the job when Kear left and we didn't seem to be over run with top class candidates and maybe Agar was the best of them ?
Lots of folk wanted Peter Gentle but he was less of a hit at Hull than Kear or Agar before him.
The old adage about being careful what you wish for, seems appropriate and personally, with the type of people that our club can attract, we have as much chance of rolling the dice and getting a 1 as we do of rolling a 4 or 5 (for this analogy Agar is probably a 3)
This season was always about finishing 12th, which we are on course for and as I say, be careful what you wish for.

He wasn't the best candidate for the job in a million years - he was the one that was selected for the job by a person who reportedly was friends with him. Not one fan I met at the time wanted him and not one fan at Hull wanted him to stay at their club where he had been given more time than enough to achieve success. His CV at the time was one of failure - he has continued to add to his CV with failure at Wakefield and the utter debacle in terms of his coaching of the French side in the world cup where they were without doubt the team that out of the entire tournament performed the worst - way way below their potential.
As for the "who else would we attract" argument - well we would attract any coach in the UK who was currently coaching anywhere outside super league - coaching a super league club is a massive opportunity - not the poissen chalice some people perceive it to be.
Finally why the hell did he get a 3 year deal - for christs sake its not as if anyone else would want him - come on get real. If offered a one year rolling contract what do you think he would have said "no chance boys I am off to saints or leeds or wire". As for those that see MC as the second coming - well, - he does seem like a decent fella who has put a lot on the line for the club and fair play to him, however, that doesn't mean he is immune from making errors of judgement and in my opinion giving Agar a 3 year deal was an error - an avoidable one at that.

Did I attend Headingly - strangely no. I have been on several occasions in the past and even saw them win with Luke George going over in the dying moments. Oh but that was in the days when the fans and more importantly the players believed that they could win.
