It was out first competitive game ever! 13 new faces started today! First half we played ok. Second half we were poor, as if the game was already won! Chase going off didn't held with tommy lee playing stand off in the second half! We didn't help ourselves with constant penaltys over and over in the second half but credit to Wakefield they won't go down IMO. I think we'll get a lot better as the season goes on so to get the win is good.

| Well done WTW. I am glad my team won, but you seem in a good place to surprise teams. I think Sl 2014 is much more even then some think, with only London looking terminally weak.
Good luck for the season and is was great that your good away support helped us to a record crowd!

Cheers mate. I think it is worth a look at the last 24 hours on Dr K twitter posts. A great series of posts between Mr Carter and Dr which shows loads of mutual respect which is top stuff from both. Also a post from Dr saying the days of free tickets is over forever! And the game was to be attended by real fans of both teams. Ok - it's a bit dramatic, but I am glad he said it

| We got caned by Child in the first half but we didn't help ourselves either, our handling was poor. Second half we improved and got some decisions and low and behold we got into the game. Thought McShane was excellent and they looked terrified everytime Ali got the ball. A good first go for Godinet as well. Less said about our wingers though the better, I thought both were poor all game. Hock & Hansen made a differnece for them and Tim Smith looked impressive. Optimistic for the rest of the season if we can cut out the errors and indisipline. I'd be giving Briscoe a run on the flank against Bradford though.

| An expected slow start from Trinity from a team that has not played together in pre season and 3 players arrived only 6 days ago but a great second half team performance to work on.
4 points difference ....two missed conversions plus playing away against a team of internationals.
Not bad against a team that has gone to the full £1.8 million salary cap and Trinity who are nowhere near it. It's a long season and Salford seemed to struggle when Chase went off injured...
Think we need to get the kicking tee out for Sykes to practice more and get that form he had a few seasons ago. Those type of missed conversions throughout the season could cost us dear. Surprised Briscoe didn't get a run at least on the wing after the pre season he's had?

If he'd caught it he would have scored.
Don't know what LFC was expecting but to feel desperation after one game is laughable. We were excellent in the second half and with a bit more composure would have beat a side that is tipped for great things this year. Looks rosy for the coming season for us.
Also tau tai was immense.

FYI in future, left at the motorway junction & then left into Eccles ARLFC car park, £3, 15 mins walk to ground. And after back on motorway before half 5, home for half 6.

Or park on Barton airfield. I stopped at the shops on the way home to Bolton, sat down to Pizza at 5:25!

| Could someone kindly give a little rundown of how the new players went please?
Unfortunately couldnt make it across today but listened to full game on radio Manchester.......abysmal commentary from a Wakefield fans point of view....can't ever remember hearing Scott Anderson mentioned even once in terms of carrying the ball in.....the only mention of him I heard referred to him as a halfback.....
They were pretty biased, which I suppose is understandable, but to be fair they gave us great credit at full time saying we should have won......as I say though, was very difficult from the commentary to know who was doing what....
McShane sounded to have a cracking game and sounded like Godinet was dangerous from the new players....
How did the likes of Ryan....Anderson.....Smith.....Keinhorst.....etc.....go......cheers

Got over fairly early and parked in first car park on the right, waited 15 mins back at the car and then got straight away.

| In brief:
Anderson ran hard and often, he's quick over the ground so makes an extra metre or so, he finds the floor on his front and gets a quick play the ball. Solid in defence.
Ryan looks a little short of full fitness but that didn't stop him playing long minutes today, no doubt he'll get even better as his fitness improves. He's a big lump of a bloke and takes some holding while he also defended well.
Godinet was very sharp with the ball in hand and picks out his runners exceptionally well, delivering a pass that can be taken without slowing down. He's light on his feet and quick to spot an opportunity, also defended very well and covered across to the wing to cut down Meli after Fox got caught too far infield.

| Godinet looks a cracking signing, very light on his feet and quite a tricky player to tie down and can spot and exploit gaps in defence. He reminds me of Tommy Leuluai.
Ryan is huge, absolutely huge and is a grafter. I'd say he'll take a couple of game before showing what he is capable of but made one of two breaks out wide.
Anderson looked steady to me, made decent yards, tackled well enough and will be a decent signing.
