| Tough times call for cool heads.
Folk taking their bat home because they can't have a smoke and the "I've been stood on this crumbling piece of concrete for 30 years and I'm not moving" brigade don't help. MC put his money in when no one else would so let him get on with it.
Michael please don't rise to the bait on here. You've communicated well on the forum dispute my initial reservations about being dragged into a scraps so please don't let folk wind you up re smoking policy.
This forum is one of the most negative places I visit coming a close second to the idiots who post on the Facebook page. I doubt most of them have ever been to a game. One thing I'm learning as I get older is if you are positive surround yourself with as many positive people as you can. From my recent dealings with the club you seem to have these positive people at BV.
On a humorous note one of my favourite Trinity myths is the three businessmen waiting in the wings for Ted and Jimmy to leave together with the proposed signings of Jason Robinson and Jonah Lumu at a time when the club didn't have a pot to in.

| Thought the Jason Robinson tale was true, didn't we get a £5,000 fine for tapping him up?

The most expensive non signing Trinity ever made after Vince Mellars.

I heard an interesting take on that saga not so long ago that I had never heard before.
Allegedly as we were a club with money at the time (or at least everyone thought we were thanks to a certain Mr Pearman) the RFL encouraged us to approach him to keep him out of the clutches of Rugby Union.
Then they proceeded to fine us for doing so.
There must be a bit of that story missing and maybe the person who told me might enlighten people further because it doesn't appear to make much sense to me.

| So many people just seem to want to moan. If it's not the new league structure, it's the change of KO time or segregation and now the smoking ban. I would just urge all those fans who are "considering walking away" to rethink. We have a great club with a great history and now, for the first time in years, the prospect of a great future with dedicated people running the club in a businesslike fashion in a new stadium. Come on Trin fans - grow some gonads. After all, who will walking away hurt?

| Don't post very often but I can't get my head around this thread.
Now, I can't speak for anyone else but as a smoker I can't say I'm too fussed - I've got a team to watch and that's the top and bottom of having a season ticket for me.

| Its not a matter of taking your bat home or walking away. The clubs made a rule that you can not smoke in the open arena, i have asked if a smoking area could be provided like the one at the stoop. Rather than look at the possibilities or even provide an answer M C seems hell bent on ranting about selling the club for a quid.
All supporters are thank full for M C efforts and in put to the club However its a forum and questions are allowed to be asked , and while ever M C s on the forum those questions can be asked direct.

This is an open forum, it is here for people to pass comment as they wish.
Surely this is exactly the place to express an opinion and experience tells us not just to nod our heads and "p" up the new chairman's back.
Someone passing comment is not supposed to be in any way a direct criticism of MC and all Wakefield fans owe the guy heaps of gratitude but, this shouldn't stop someone posting if their opinion is different to our gaffer.

| I think in MC's defence his "rant" was rightly or wrongly about the implication that he isn't doing a good job or listening to fans, rather than the specific smoking issue.
On the smoking issue, surely this is only the same length of time that you couldn't smoke at the cinema or a meal at a restaurant. You can leave both those places to smoke but you can't smoke inside and they don't have smoking areas.
At work, I can't imagine many empoyers liking smokers going outside more regularly than 2 hours.
Why is a rugby match different?

Why don't you use some of your well earned money & go watch rugby at the Stoop where you can smoke. Hear Harlequins RUFC are quite a good time.
