Overpaying the likes Mellors erodes the ability of the club to fund long term projects like Kay. In hindsight Mellors was a poor signing, it happens - however it's the fact that he was so grossly overpaid that it actually drained the club that really irked. The club have had to pay him off with cash that could have been used to plump up Kayes and others deals. Now every penny is needed to get 17 SL players on the park and the possible stars of the future have to be forgotten - something I'm sure MC and RA don't like one bit.

So it is IMO relevant, there has to be balance in recruitment.

A bit of perspective. Liam Kay wasn't offerred 8k. He was offerred 15k plus a few add ons. Whether that is an insult is open to opinion. But in light of putting a super league squad together in a relegation year, ITS ALL WE COULD AFFORD. We have to balance long term aims with short term priorities.

IMO 15k is about right especially for how many first games he has played.

15K at 23 playing a sport he I assume enjoys with one full SL game under your belt is no insult at all. However some people will never be totally happy unless they are painting the club or the coach as evil exploiters.

I would have thought a young kid like Liam would have gambled just one more season on those terms considering there isn't that much in front of him and he should get a decent amount of game time at SL level.

I don't see how its dis-respectful? MC was clearly putting out the facts after people have said that he had been offered 8k instead of the 15k.

Also 100% agree with jack in the box although it doesn't apply to all of them just the majority.
