| Sigh....
Almost ... Word for word like I heard when Skerrett was sold... And Nigel Wright... And Danny Brough...
Personally
I don't rate Smith in the category of these other players, but the principle is the same.
Poor stuff from Carter, and even poorer stuff from Glover, who clearly ran away from the hard decisions.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| I think it's great from carter tbh on the flip side. He clearly has set out his stall and has made the hard decision you say others shirked.
Good on him. Make a hard decision now and try and stabilise the club properly.
What's the alternative? Wait it out and come a few months in pre season be forced to sell 2/3 players at a low rate in desperation to clear the same bills to stave off for 2014.
Great decision. Obviously in playing terms as fans not the best but as far as management decisions go. It's a positive move for the club.

Why so?
Like you said you've heard it before but doesn't that show what a extremely hard job it is to run a club with no multi-millionaire owners and no 12K+ crowds. Fans want a decent team on the field, so we can at least contest for the top 8 but a lot also want to pay naff all for their season tickets.
I've got nothing but admiration for these guys who basically give their hard earned cash to the club for basically nothing, I won't do it with mine.
As for selling Smith, I like him and what he does but it's hard to knock an offer back like that considering the situation.

| Has any figure been put on the deal??
£150k I'm told we turned down for DK but nobody is disclosing the figure for Smith?

First off i agree Trojan, he had no choice but to sell him and imo he did the right thing.
Lets not be blaming him for sorting out the mess he got left with, AG and JE are the reason this mess needs sorting and it needed sorting on friday not next week or the week after.
We now have a small chance with MC running the show to survive, cos beleive me we had no chance at all before.

We need a rugby team on the field so all non playing staff should be shown the door and made redundant and costs such as the shop closed down ASAP if its as bad as suggested. All merchandising must be done on line to save costs or sold on match day from the shop there by volunteers.

| The only problem with using volunteers instead of paid staff if that we are supposed to be a professional sports club, and should be run like a business as one should be.
We are not too far away from the days when the board relied far too heavily on volunteers, and that didn't work out in the club being well run did it?
Said from day 1 that we shouldn't treat Glover as some kind of messiah. Yes, his money "saved" the club at that point, but I fully believe there will not be a point in my lifetime where this club, in some form, does not exist.
You can fool double glazing punters with hype but you can't fool that majority of rugby league supporters, only the few who hero worship owners and chairmen in the hope of picking up crumbs from the top table.

Keep franchises out of our game: |
|
| Club statement ? Sounds familiar ? Isn't this the very same statement AG Made when he took over. Apart from a few figures changed to protect the guilty. Some have welcomed it as open and honest. If so why does it not explain why we are in this mess again so soon after the last debacle. why not say if JE is still involved. AG was not open and honest., If just told you the bits that suited him .MC is doing the same. How long before if starts employing his friends and. family .How much is he actually going to put in to the club. Probably no greater percentage of his income/wealth than I am or any other committed supporter. We need to in back to being a MEMBERS club. Where being a member means you have a say in running a club. Electing a committee to oversee and monitor the clubs employees. A radical idea ? Well no. It's just how clubs used to be run before we trusted in corrupt business men .

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| The sooner RL wakes up and smells the coffee the better the game cannot sustain full time professionalism since SL started Wakefield Halifax Oldham Hull Paris Workington Leigh Castleford Celtic London Bradford Widnes Hull KR Salford Sheffield others not in SL have had problems Dewsbury Featherstone KeighleyHunslet Swinton Barrow have all being bust or have had real money problems others like Huddersfield Warrington St Helens and now Salford are propped up by sugar daddies the game is in a mess
My love for Wakefield will never die my love of RL and the farce that SL has brought to the game has.
I will not attend today or next week I will not allow a knee jerk to the situation I need time to consider renewing my season ticket and continuing to pay into the 1873 If JE was to be sacked the decision maybe easier

| i love the club but sometimes you just get worn down by it all. it just gos on and on. ag hasnt become a successful business man by being thick even he knows you cant spend what you havnt got, so why let it get so far out of control again.
