| We stood on the western terrace for years but decided to change to the north stand when they gave us a roof view & atmosphere is a lot better. I can see why Key security and the club have decided to take this action as its easier to manage as everyone mixed under the north stand creates a pressure cooker situation witch occurred several times last season. This is a good safe idea by the club but only if policed properly not just saying north stand home only then letting away fans in anyway and if the west terrace is now the away friendly terrace then the Chav corner element should be moved into the north stand. It will be interesting to see how it will work out but I think it's a good thing only 2 seasons until Newmarket where they'll be an away stand

| I'd like to think that RL fans do not need to be segregated for H&S issues. You'll be pleased to know you're free to stand or indeed sit anywhere you please on Sunday at the iconic Provident Stadium Odsal. Have a safe trip over and maybe leave a few mins earlier to allow for possible teething problems for the opening match under new management.

Thank you I too moved from the West stand and loved it in the Northstand, I think the pressure cooker bit is the shock the away fans got when the Northstand came to life and wildcats fans chanted and even out shouted away fans at most games, some away fans did not like it and got abusive.. I say keep it Home fans except for the rest of the ground, it would make things better, the plan is to build and bring in new fans and make the Northstand a Wall of Wildcats noise, and shout the boys on nothing to do with us and them, we are intrested in our team and cheering them on.
I say stay where you want to stand but, give the Northstand idea time to work... then we will see...

| My only concern with the North stand is that stewards allow anybody and everybody to stand on the yellow "footpath" steps, it makes it a pig to get to the bar/toilet!

| Good idea, to make the North Stand rock, but the wrong location.
The West Stand provides the best "down the sides" view, the best access to the Touchline Bar, the Bottle Bar, the beer van and the facilities on the ground floor of the hospitality suite.
Now, it's behind the sticks or nothing, because I presume the Family Stand is intended as that, an area for families to watch from.
Being "encouraged" to watch from elsewhere is the same as being told, particularly at the first game, where it will be populated by Hull KR fans with the best access to alcohol. Not the best mix.
My own view, from where I like to watch it: my gameday experience is lessened. Why give the only decent "down the sides" view to the away fans, where most of the home fans used to watch from?
The East Stand would have been the best part, because you only have to put some kind of barrier where you walk onto it to create a properly segregated zone. It's also the worst place to watch it from.

For the Hull and Hull KR games, on entering the ground get all spectators to say, "Gerrem Onside", the ones that say "Gerrem Onsard" are from Hull. Simples

| Provided this is properly managed by decent stewards and a sensible use of turnstyles, I don't see the problem; the club spent a fortune putting a roof on the North Stand and I'm certain they didn't do that purely for the benefit of visiting away supporters.
The North Stand became an extra man during home games and the hostile atmosphere upset some away fans, who are perhaps used to coming to BV and out-singing us; that doesn't happen any more, and rightly so.
It's a good move to take ownership of it in my view - the key will be managing it properly.

But don't you think that, in what is reality a three-sided ground, it is a bad thing to restrict home fans to just one terrace, if you assume that groups of blokes will be discouraged from standing in the Family Stand? I feel a bit hacked off, because if I am being "encouraged" to stand elsewhere in the ground, I am "discouraged" from standing down the sides, which has the advantage of creating an atmosphere at both ends of the pitch.
I can't help feeling that the home fans have been turned into the away fans, in that you are encouraged to go in just one place, and that's behind the sticks, which is only an encouragement for the players when they are at that end.

Agree with all that.

| We could always go back to having no roof,no atmosphere, get wet through and being embarrassed by our
rivals vocal support.
We need to get used to it now.with Newmarket on the horizon.

Given my experiences with key security, Id say you'll have problem after problem... I had a ticket for the east stand vs Fev a few weeks ago and there was a problem with getting in. I also have a season ticket in the east stand and I have problems getting to my seat most weeks because key securities ushers have new policies and a new list of do's and don'ts to adhere to and segregation will prove no different.
Mark my words, when we play someone with a big away following, Ie. Leeds, or either of the Hull clubs, this forum will get pounded the day after with complaints that folk missed the first 15 minutes of a game because of issues getting in!

| Stupid move! why not ask the supporters first what they wanted, many of the old timers would not consider standing in the North stand. Poor do.

| Seems Key security know more about it then the fans and paying public
I will still be taking my place up on the western terrace where I have stood ever since my kids were old enough to look after themselves on matchday.
With a bottle bar, touchline bar, mobile bar, food stalland toilets close to hand I cant' see anywhere else int the ground better to stand and with an elevated view of the pitch there is no way I'm going to the east stand and I'd rather not go to north stand, did it twice last season and sorry it's not my cup of tea

| I hope it goes well and dont implode big time like it has the potential to do.North stand home fans only so away fans manage to get in not wearing club colours and there is trouble. So what do we do at the same time as a club go round schools offering parent and child tickets on offer so lets say 500 parents take this offer up well it wont go down very well if trouble happens and the club can do without bad press or putting those potential 500 from coming to BV again.

| I have always stood on the wall in the west stand and I am not going to change now. Why should we segrigate the ground just to make life easier for the security contractors, if they can't controll the crowd get someone in who can. I say leave well alone and let the people who attend the game decide where they will sit/stand.
