Exactly Al, the mushroom effect is still in force it seems which is bad, agar will never be given a chance if we get off to a bad start which has every chance of happening and then boom back to square one again and another opportunity wasted.

| Quote: Tommy Duckfingers "To be fair, whay are you basing this on? The fact he comes accros as a bit boring?
he could be the best motivator going in the game. What is clear is that some big (relatively speaking) names down under must have some faith in him to come and play for him. Not that I am over bothered about imports, but signings such as Heremia, Crocker Omealy and Fitzgibbon wipe the floor with the likes of Motu Tony, Jeremy Smith, Semi and the like.'"
I guess I'm basing it on the fact that he's not achieved much of anything at Hull, with a squad that has sufficient quality and £ value to be consistently achieving much more.
I'm with you on the imports, but I think you're wrong to believe that those players flew halfway round the world specifically to play for Richard Agar; they did it for money, something we didn't have, hence the comparatively poor quality of our imports.
I genuinely think he's the wrong man for the job - he won't inspire any interest in our latent support, has a poor record of bringing young players through and presents himself in the media in a very downbeat and negative way; all things that we need our new HC to be good at in this transition period. Also, by the way, reasons that I refuse to believe it's him until the club announce it, since the statement on Monday describing the important traits of our new HC is totally incongruent with Mr Agar's qualities.

So something that hasn't even happened yet is karma?
You are more stupid than your post suggests.

| I'll still watch the team with Agar in charge but did I want someone else, yes.
One comment I can't get my head around is that Agar "attracted" players like O'Meley, Fitzgibbon to the club??? So nobody thinks money played a part?

| If he is installed as our head coach then he has my utmost support. He will be judged on results at Wakefield and not past achievements. Gentle has yet to achieve anything as head coach along with Nathan Brown and Justin Morgan, lets just see what happens and if in two years time we are not moving forward, then we can all call for his head. Just because its australian doesn't make it better.

| Quote: newwildcat "Can't be Agar. How does this:
"We have been looking for a coach that can work to improve the skills and ability of our current squad, but also work to bring in new players (both through the academy and from other clubs) to help strengthen the team for the 2012 season and beyond. The new coach must also be able attract world class overseas players, and make this a place that people want to come to."
equal this:
"Richard Agar"
I'll give hime a chance but I can't help thinking we've missed a big opportunity to inspire the fans and really change the culture.
It's the academy part which is your club's problem.

If by "turned round" you mean nosedived to finshed 2nd from bottom twice, made the playoffs once in 6th position, and just scraped in again this year" in the years following a cup win and GF apperance, then yup, He's your man.

| Look on the bright side, if he joins you can look forward to the 'impact winger' on the bench. In a few years you'll be hailed as visionaries when everyone is doing it!

I suppose it'll make a change from Mr Kear's increasingly cumbersome collection of fullbacks - we were running out of space for them anyway.
