| Quote: vastman "Good purchase, mine was Out of the Blue by ELO which I still like.'"
Scarily, so was mine (from the record shop on Upper Kirkgate, the name of which escapes me right now). Think I redeemed myself a little bit with my next purchases - Thin Lizzy "Live and Dangerous" and the Stranglers "Rattus Norvegicus".
Too pee'd off to think about rugby right now, so current all time favourite top 10, in no particluar order, is:
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
The Who - Live at Leeds (I "don't get" The Who, but this album seriously kicks A)
Bob Marley - Natty Dread
Misty in Roots - Live at the Counter Eurovision
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Stiff Little Fingers - Inflammable Material
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Pink Floyd - Echoes
The Doors - LA Woman
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Boll*ocks (can't believe I had to manipulate the swear filter for that one.... I'll ban myself )

Probably the best live album ever, would have loved to have seen them at their height.

Live clips of that gig are kind of scary. The only stand-alone Who track for mine is Baba O'Riley, which is class. Otherwise, everything they ever did that was any good is on the live album. In my humble opinion, of course... except for that "Real Me" track on Quadrophenia, which is also class...

depends what kind of music you're talking about
Live at Leeds is ok (I still have the original LP with all the paperwork etc somewhere in the garage, but Quo live is great and Uriah Heep Live too though probably my fave live album is Deep Purple 'Made in Japan'
re - seeing bands live - probably the best for me has to be Floyd in the mid 70s with Dark Side of the Moon,Bowie in the Ziggy Stardust era,Quo who were great rockers,Alice Cooper with a great stage show and beleive it or not BJH whose live music was as good in quality as any studio album, amazing sound reproduction on stage. There must be more tangled up with the grey matter................
