| Quote: Wakefield No 1 "Yeah but if he really wants to be in as a 'main player' in the newmarket development, owning the rugby club that plays at the crucial community stadium would put him and his company top of the list.. Anyway whatever the reason I hope he takes over asap! then we can talk about beating Leeds, Cas, Bradford etc etc instead of whether the club will exist anymore!'"
With you on that one!

Very interesting article, obviously a very shrewd guy. I would imagine he would run rings round the dummies at the RFL, which makes me think if he is the guy that's coming in, he will have "assurances" from the RFL as to our future.
Big business doesn't pi$$ around with nobody's like the people employed at red hall, "you want me and my money involved in SL? This is what I want......"

Interesting article here rlhttps://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/1299/Lionheart-who-just-keeps-on.1359376.jprl'" reading that page through shows a grit and determination to get what he wants, looks like he's had some good breaks on the way to his successful business but the hard graft has paid off for him
very much doubt that we would read anything on here but your more than welcome to take this club to the top for me

| Well more 2nd hand rumours that i've heard about this....it's Steve Parkin, another rich bloke and then 2 Wakefield fans who are banding together wanting to buy the club.

| Whatever happened to the knight in shining armour that was rumoured to be interested in us last year. It was all over this board like a rash - heating firm or some such; people on here knew the family etc

| Quote: "Parkin, a lifelong Leeds United fan and occasional sponsor who possesses his own company aircraft and personal pilot to get him around to his various UK depots, plus being a major racehorse owner and home owner in Spain, has revealed in the Yorkshire Evening Post that he did have the financial clout with the consortium he pulled together to invest in United, currently languishing one place above Southend United at the foot of the Coca Cola Championship but after a due diligence of the club's books he did not like what he saw and was advised to walk away.'"
We won't stand a chance then!

I'm surprised it took the best part of 4 pages for someone to join these dots together.
Moving everything to Newmarket allows Steve Parkin to keep an eye on all of his businesses without taking too much time going between them. The main trading business would obviously remain his focus, but meetings for either the team who play with the funny shaped ball or WT could be managed easily. Driving between Wakefield & Guiseley takes an absolute age at the best of times & there's abvious benefits to this deal IF the rumours are true & IF a deal is put together.

| It'd still take a lot of money, maybe more than keeping Wakefield in SL year in, year out, to get Guiseley into the Football League. The Conference is a very tough place to escape from. Have to feel for the poor supporters who'll have their team taken away from them should they be moved to Newmarket if any of this is true,
