I thought Peter Fox was very good for us, signed for Hull Kr the year after and played very good tests for England against NZ. Semi Tadulala was also solid. BJB trounces all over MCB for me, we really missed him when he went. Josh Bostock had a good year for us when we came up.

One player I can’t believe hasn’t been mentioned was Ben Cockayne, he was outstanding for us and made the England train on squad while with his. He wouldn’t care less about putting his body on the line. I really liked him.

Ken Hirst one of the best wingers I've seen in a Trinity shirt, but sadly he was always third choice. Jan Prinsloo on a par with TJ for me. His tries to appearances ratio has not been beaten. Andy Fletcher was a good 'un also

if you haven't already seen the video of the 1968 "Watersplash" final I suggest you do and you'll see exactly what Ken Hirst was capable of. A great winger and decent chap as you say. Being at Trinity at the same time as Gert Coetzer, Berwyn Jones, John Etty, Fred Smith & Jan Prinsloo his chances of getting a run of games was always going to be limited. An unsung hero. |
