Don`t get me wrong I think Fergy could be good for us, I like his defense and we desperately need players who can tackle, add to that Kirmond and Ashurst are not exactly durable plus Fergy can play 13. That said I also like Simon who I think has been great for us, top attitude and hurts the opposition with his hard running. I have not seen much of Allgood but he will have to be good to be better than Simon for us.'"
Oh the irony of it all - I was clinging to the hope that crap you post on here was a joke, clearly I'm wrong.
As for Simon I don't doubt his attitude but he rarely makes yards despite hitting the line like a train - I don't know why but he's a bit like you, flatters to deceive
We'll see, I was right about Finn and Johnstone and I'm right about Ferguson - next time I see you I'll tell you how it feels
I mean you want us to sign Lee Gaskell - luckily Hudds have saved your blushes on that one

His error count is no worse than others, and to compare him to the likes of Korkidas and Moore is laughable.
He is lighter in comparison to our other forwards, which could culminate in some handling errors, but he doesnt make any more than any other.
I am in agreement with a lot of people on here, stating he and Arona would be better used in the back row.
Dont think Allgood is a world beater, but I do think the trio of props that are incoming (including Fifita) are an improvement on the outgoing ones in Scruton, Anderson and Yates.
Also, I still haven't seen anything confirmed yet with Simon, and as he is contracted, if he is to be going, then they would have to be a fee involved.'"
What are you on about, both those players were better and I wasn't even a Korky fan - you really love your Frenchmen.

| Come on let's not bag players like Simon whose been a good signing and whose stats for last season were impressive. He contributed more than most as discussed on other thread. I recall his match against Trinity when he played for Catalan away and he ran over the top of a couple of Trinity forwards...the forum then raved about him being signed by Agar for the following season.
If he is to leave hopefully Trinity will get a fee as he has another year on his contract....losing Simon though isn't an issue if Ferguson and Allgood are signed IMHO.
Allgood is an experienced ex-NRL prop and maybe has something to prove. At 6ft 4 and 17 stone he adds even more size to the pack.
Ferguson is a big SL standard second row and will be a good signing for Trinity adding genuine competition with Ashurst, Kirmond and others. He has showed up well in the Four nations.

If we do get any sort of fee it'll be minimal considering there's only one year left.

| While Im raving about my Frenchmen here Vasty, we could always bring back Julien Rinaldi to replace Moore and Elina to beef up the pack

| Shudds have announced the signings of Clough and Gaskell but not Ferguson.
Seems a bit odd.
Don't want to put 2+2 together and get 5 but if Simon goes will that allow us move in and pay a nominal fee to Shudds to null Fergusons contract with them?

| If Ferguson isn't in The Farts plans for next season I sincerely hope Trinity don't pay any sort of fee for him.

If Hudds want a fee, I hope we tell them where they can stick it. It sounds like they don't want to honour the agreement with Ferguson and we are interested in him.

If he s still on contract at Hudds and they don't want him guess they would be happy to pay half his wages whilst he plays for wakefield , no other super league club in the reckoning

| And that's why I didn't want to put 2+2 together.
I suppose it may come down to how badly Shudds want shut, knowing that someone is interested in taking Ferguson from them.
They possibly need to line up a replacement?

| We are the only super league club in the running for him.
Does this mean we are the only one who has offered any interest in him?
I used to be a fan of him but he has barely played much SL since 2013 and the league gets harder year on year.
Just not sure on this one as to whether or not he will improve our side if he was to be a regular. Squad player maybe but dont think now he is any better than what we already have

I don't think it does tbh. The fact is he's played the majority of his career in SL suggests to me he knows what it's all about. I think he''s a better player than Molloy and even if he isn't in the starting 17 each week, we need someone who can step in do the same job as the starting player. Ateotd it's all about who'd available and the wages they command. If Ferguson fits the bill, imo he won't let anyone down.

So you're saying you would rather keep A Tupou with an injury on a big salary, rather than to use his wages to bolster the pack? Allgood if he came would be a No.3/4 Prop and adds some size and experience. Fergy would be here to back up Ashurst & Kirmond, along with a few others
It's all speculation at this point and yes I'd love an A Tupou here, even playing at 90% his best but his minutes weren't great and his limping around got worse as the season went on, so it doesn't bode well. If he does decide to retire, we could use his wage to bring in extra reinforcements in the forwards plus with Moores' wages, make a bid for a decent starting Hooker. With no millionaire backer, we've got to get value for money and use our resources the best we can.

| Tupou isn't coming back, hence we have the quota space to sign Allgood. We don't just get to re-use all his wage elsewhere though as his severence agreement from the remainder of his contract will be deducted from available funds. Still likely to be a decent amount to play with though.
