| Less bothered about who plays against Toulouse as who plays the week after.
We have Hall and Walton left now unless Tupou gets back to fitness.
Not a lucky position.

Bit OTT as usual.
Hall and Walton next week, pretty obvious. Week after Tupou should be back giving extra choices.
Pitty Morris had to call it a day.

I quite like Walton for his intensity, but I still don't think he's polished enough for SL, seems to give a lot of penalties away. I know we're limited on choice but I'd prefer Tansey at this stage.

I agree he's not the most cultured I've seen, however he has played most of his career at centre whilst Tansey has hardly ever player there. Tansey is also a weak defender and Walton is strong.
Not just digging at you but I just dont get this obsession with picking out of position players in preference to those with experience. People on here are doing the same with Hall, almost demanding he is a SL standard HB despite the flimsiest of evidence to support it. I assume it's based on the fact that very occasionally he can pass a ball. Yet you suggest Howarth as back up some tool laughs at you when in reality he's as much of a claim as Hall. I'm assuming this is based purely in the fact that Hall can run faster, it's certainly not based on any other known facts. That said these are the same people who will post the following week that Tupou or Lyne will never be Centres despite having played many games in that position with a good level of competance.
I'm not against players changing positions, quite the opposite but there has to be a reason for it and the ability to do so. In the case of BJB he wanted to be a F/B and everyone assumed he would be good at it, but he was poor and that happened because people listened to the player and not what they saw. Mopsey warned us all and he was spot on this time. Tom Johnstone on the other hand looks very capapble of moving to the centres and maybe even S/O in the years to come but it needs to be planned.
The only other sound reason for playing a player out of position is when there is absolutely no one else available. So back to Walton - he's available and he's an experienced centre and for me should get the gig no questions asked.
Finally for the reactionaries out there who small minds I can hear crunching into gear - wingers becoming H/B's especially S/O's are a very common and higly successful phenomina indeed. I give you
Garen Casey: Centre to S/O
Roger Kenworthy: Winger to excellent S/H
Paul Sykes: /FB to S/O
...and a particular favourite RU Winger Graham Steadman who became a GB S/O in three seasons. Why you need to justify the obvious on here I'm not sure but sadly you do.

| Jordan played centre for York last week for the last 30 minutes and starting at centre tomorrow. Not saying he's a centre but if it comes down to lack of bodies who knows

| [listHere's a thought.
I would prefer Tansey over Walton.
Jowitt has played centre before he got in first team. How about Tansey full back and Jowitt to centre.
Alternatively, is Batchelor ready isn't he a stand off or back tower. Maybe he could do a job at centre.
Maybe also do we look into the loan market even if it is just a month

Why, based on what. He's had one good game for us at F/B.
Batchelor is nowhere near ready, barely played a handfull of Academy games. As for moving Jowitt that's just bizzare.
It's you're opinion which you are free to give, I just wish I got the logic I really do.

I get what you're saying but I get the impression that Walton has put us under a lot of pressure with conceding pointless penalties, both for high shots and holding down mainly.
We didn't have that much ball vs Hull and got pumped in the end, last night we did ok defensively but don't think we're ready to invite more pressure on ourselves just yet. Tansay's experience will reduce that.
To be fair though, as you say, he is a better defender than Tansey, so might be what we need to protect BJB, who seems to alternate between a tackling god and being powder puff.

| I have been impressed with Walton when he's played. Tough little nut who gives 100%.

Playing well in a good side and a decent set of lads and Fordy seems to think well of him, when's he back, I think that's up to CC but he's on a month to month loan at the moment, thanks for the interest dj.

No offence BLM but we are a few levels down from SL here. That's not a dig but you've a wee bit more room to experiment there.
Still be interested in how he goes.
How come when ever I go on the York site JC never gets a mention, is he in the first team? I'm very interested in his progress.
When Phil Clark stated that one of our three young players would be a future International, one a Man of Steal and one another acholade (can't remember what he said) just out of interest who do you think each statemant refered to?
