| Would be nice but I can't see it going unfortunately. It should have been ditched at the start of the Glover era.
That said the new merchandise is a nod to the past, it's just a shame it's appalling quality.

Who knows what other costs it would involve though, next years merch and all that. There could even be a cost involved with registering a new name with the RFL!'"
What other costs can there be, letterheads are printed in office nowerdays and those that aren't are cheap as chips along with business cards etc.
New merchandise is ordered in every year and so can be designed with the new logo and traditional name.

| Some proper grumps on here!
FWIW, IF we are ever to change the name back it should only ever be at the point we move to our 'new' home, be that a revamped BV or NM.
I'm ok with what we have though tbh!

I don't see why?
It's seen by what seems a large majority as a positive step back towards our historic success and a distancing from the bad times we've endured since adopting the Wildcat logo. That in itself is a positive news story.
If we ever get a stadium to be proud of in the future then that's a standalone story which won't need a rebrand to juice it up.
All in my humble opinion.

can you take it as an ideal opportunity to ditch the stupid Wildcat tag. Lets go back to Trinity and leave the Wildcat name to rot with Belle Vue.
Infact going a bit further I wouldn't mind loosing the Wakefield bit either our City doesn't deserve us using the name.
West Yorkshire Trinity would do fine for me.'"
100% agree.

| Whilst I agree, and hate the Wildcats moniker, it does engage with the kids. My 4 year old already recognises and shouts wildcats whenever he sees it (without any previous prompting), so whilst the 150 or so old duffers on here may hate, it is a good branding for the next generation of fans, and its those that we need to engage.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Disagree alot about the old duffers, I was around 10yo my first game and I got hooked under the trinity name which I still call them today. Even during my teens when wildcats came in ive never liked it personally.
i can't stand the wildcats name and never use it. Neither does my younger brother. It was a pants name then and still is.
We had to try and fit in by picking a nickname and ended up choosing wildcats of all possibilities. Never registered it then and refuse to now.

| I would love us to return to Wakefield Trinity and have our proper badge back, Wildcats is the most I'll thought cringe worthy name since the blue sox. We'd sell loads more merchandise it doesn't do Saints HKR HFC Wigan any harm or every English soccer club. We are the famous Wakefield Trinity and should be proud of it.

| If I thought re branding would make and difference to our win% ratio or get more folk through the turnstiles I would be all for it. As it wouldn't make as a scrap of difference to either I really cannot see any merit in it.

| If the 'Wildcat' works so well,
Where are all the young supporters, I mean the terraces are full of them right?
No they're not are they
Ditch it!

Exactly. Trinity is a brand name and a bloody good one. A marketing dream. Wildcats is an ill thought out moniker plucked from a hat.

Exactly and the danger is we are sleep walking into loosing it for good.
Even on Sunday at Huddersfield we were announced as The Wakefield Wildcats, no mention of Trinity.
Ditch the stupid Wildcat tag before its too late.

| I think some are missing the point here. The older ones are looking at this from the "I remember before we were the wildcats" standpoint and hate the name. If I remember rightky didn't the name come from a competion run in the schools. Where are all the kids, they are supporting either the Leeds "Rhino's" or Cas "Tigers" because A) they have had more sucessful sides and B) they offer a lot more in tems of engaging with the kids. Wakefield have no budget to work with, offer very little on a matchday for the kids, have poor facilities etc etc... If we move to a new stadia, If we can offer a better family experience, then, you would see the benefit of the Wildcats tag. It's all in the marketing. Trinity means nothing to the young ones i'm afraid. There are a few exception to that, but not many.

| Belle Vue should be flattened and social housing for the Agbrigg area and perhaps a new area for travelers to live ie an extension to the Doncaster Road site built on it. This will keep Box and Rowley happy. It also concentrates everybody on getting to Newmarket . BV is a distraction.
