Every amature RL club in the district should be encouraged to promote this, the youngsters involved will hopefully be the long term beneficiary's of the 1873 club.

That was after Wednesday night I believe.
James Elston tweeted last night that over 200 had signed up yesterday.
Seems to be going well, although I believe the club are still after some volunteers to push this to others who attended Wednesday and didn't sign up. People are needed to help from 5pm to 8pm evenings making phone calls and trying to get peolpe to sign up.
If you fancy helping out, give the club a ring and let them know you're available to help or email the Supporters Trust and we will pass your deatils on.

I've just joined now, i was disapointed with how the meeting was oversold (IMO) and did leave before the second announcement as i was kn*ckered after a long day (and disappointed) but ultimately the scheme is good for the club regardless of whether we are in Sl or not and therefore i'll support it and hope we can make a succes of it (which should IMO encourage the scheme to offer other prizes such as hospitality packages etc).

Just done a quick calculation in my head
if we managed to recruit 2000 people to the club 1873 draw that equates to
£208,000 per year
deduct from that
2 X £5000 &
52 X £300
£25,600
£154,400 per year
if that level of investment is added to the club's existing annual budget for youth development then we should be spending somewhere between
[size£200,000 and £250,000 per year.[/size
Without doubt that would give us probably the best funded and potentially most successful youth development system in rugby league

Been on holiday so didn't make the meeting last week and haven't time to read through all the threads re the 1873 club but have a couple of questions :
(1) Presume you still can't do it online?
(2) Do you have to pay the full amount up front for the option you select?
Also, if I buy my two kids a junior membership does this count to the 5000 total we are trying to achieve?
