| Obviously I didn't see every game he played in a Wakey shirt but from I what I saw of him he was a bit of a liability for giving away daft penalties. I expect you can get better value out of the cap space he took up anyway. Whether those players are now still available is possibly another matter. I assume you must now have at least one quota spot free now to maybe target somebody from the WC?
I'd have thought somebody like Moore would bring some much needed size and experience to the pack too?

| I too did think if we set up with a budget similar to a championship team for this season would enable directors to recoup money. If so only thing that could save us would be the club's and the rfl not coming to an agreement over the way forward with superleague which may delay promotion and relegation for another year.

You can pack that positivity in right now.
No place for statements like that on this forum!

| I could say we have 6 of the Australian squad lined up, yes it is positive but not correct. I said I will be quite happy to give positivity when I see some not when someone suggests we may have 6players lined up and even then it is subject to everything falling in place.

1icon_cool.gif Jon Molloy
I think Kirmond will be sold along with Poore and Cockayne to clear the debt (hopefully it'll be cleared).
Molloy on 18 month contract so hopefully he gets match fit and proves a thing or two to warrant the trust given by Agar as shown nothing last season.
Heard Mellars back in Aus to stay a few weeks ago hopefully it's true and it's cost little to end his contract as on too much for a small club apparently and not SL standard anymore. We'll need a SL standard 7, another 8 and another 9 if we are to compete at all. Hopefully their purchases can be financed. Negativity does not help anyone constructive criticism does.

| Fingers crossed they are 6 superleague standard players and not just the rumoured half dozen leeds academy loanees.
There are still players available that could make us competitive if we have the funds but we need to act soon.

| I think Richard Moore will be one of the 6 to sign for Wakefield and hopefully Mark Offerdahl will be another.

| Well I'm hearing new players coming in that will make us more competitive than we might expect. A proper business plan incorporating the move to Newmarket and maybe money put into the club along the way. I'm more positive about our future now than I was earlier on today and looking forward to next season.

| I was talking to a friend of mine is an ex player agent in the NRL, and is currently the chief development officer for an emerging European nation last night about our current situation.
I was saying that we are trying to reduce wage bill and bring in some cheaper replacements.
He was saying that one of his ex players was looking for a club in 2014.
His name is Matt Bell and played for Penrith and Wests Tigers. He is a prop or second row.
Now I dont watch too much NRL, but I know there are a lot that do. Does anyone know of him.

| Quote: deeHell "Some people need to get off their high horse and stop having a go at the fans that haven't yet purchased Season Tickets. A sharp dose off reality is what's needed. Claims and insinuations that the people of Wakefield don't want or deserve a SL team are nothing more than a slur. The apathy in Wakefield is no more than it is in Cas, Salford or anywhere else for that matter. You have to think we've been garbage for last 2 generations without even a sniff of success. Along with all the false dawns...we have an excuse for apathy in our City. Huddersfield has to be the worst Town for it considering the success the fans have witnessed in the last 5 season...do they deserve a SL team? In the games current set up yes they do because the game relies on sugar daddies, it as simple as that and we don't have one. Glover did his best to give us the impression we had one. That our main problem, not apathy in the City. You all fell for the bait and blamed your fellow fans on what was always going to be an impossible task. Anyone or anything that can be raised for cash at the club is and has been sacrificed and that was always the case no matter how many ST were sold.
I'm starting to think Agentxiii maybe right, were witnessing a full on asset strip.
If MC has the clubs future (and not previous investors) why did he not vote against the current proposed reforms? Buy voting for this he just about guaranteed our relegation next year (with a nice parachute payment of course). The alternative been proposed was a 14 team competition with one up and one down (as opposed 2 up and down), how would that not be in our better interest?'"
I couldn't care less about the apathy in Huddersfield or Salford, besides they have rich enough owners to counter it. Cas match Trinity's attendances, and will better them when tickets are full price, even though the town is half the size of Wakefield. Even with cheap season tickets, decent promotion and a false sense of positivity, roughly 5% -7% of the city's population could be bothered to go to BV regularly. We need at the minimum 10% -15% of the population paying full price to make this club sustainable without a rich backer. Without one Trinity will always be a selling club struggling to get by. The more people turn their back the worse it will be.
We took advantage of the cheap tickets when things were relatively good. It seems we're turning our back now things have taken a turn for the worse.

If you think we are going to get 10-15% of Wakefield population to buy into the club you can forget it, it's not going to happen. Not at a club thats been mediocre for two generations and will be for the foreseeable future. SL is now a financial competition of rich owners and we don't have one. Without been to crude we are selling a garbage product compared to what's out there. OK I accept that, what I don't like is how MC is successfully pushing the blame on to the people of Wakefield. The product is worth what people are willing to pay. STs at £125 for a club on the verge of the top 8 is deemed value, £180 for a bottom 3 club is not deemed value to to the wider public. How much is a ticket worth at Wigan considering the quality of rugby and success you can expect? All this is open to laws of supply and demand, and emotional black mail can only play a minor part in this. You need to get out of this mid set that other people think like us die hards. Just don't blame other people that have had enough we've only ourselves to blame.
If we have the best long term interests of the club why get rid of marketing people from the club? These are essential staff in professional money raising environment, whose going out in the community? Who is there to ring round the other 3k ST holders that have yet to renew?
Why the hell have we voted to for the proposed new system with 2 teams to be relegated (at the same time more than doubling our chance of relegation)? It's been quoted in the RL press that the rebels wanted to stay at 14 and have 1 up and 1 down. At least under that system we stood a fighting chance of been in SL leading up to 2016 and hopefully Newmarket. This is a question that MC keeps ignoring in his QA even though it keeps getting asked. I suppose all that is the fault of the apathetic Wakefield public.
