It may well be, but if its what we can afford then thats just how it is. if more money comes in the season may well seem that bit shorter!!

| I thought Aiton was pretty anonymous for the middle season. Only really showed his mettle on the season closing stages when he started running from DH again.
If a deal for Aiton is good enough and can be worked with Leeds for cash and player/s is seriously consider.

Welcome to the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Daniel Smith!
He is not small at 6 foot 2 tall and 17 1/2 stone. Hope we keep Poore to help his development with his vast experience also give us size up front. Could be another Agar find from down under on a cheap deal.

Think we'll need a few more but we need to keep the core of the squad from last year including Aiton whose defence in the middle is essential. He needed more support from bench and shouldn't have been used for full 80 mins, most other hookers don't do it.
I agree with others though not keen on loan deals where we're developing other teams players (their assets). Would now like to hear Wildie, Kaye and Walshaw have got 1 year contracts for next season with WTW.

One of Aiton's qualities is that he can play 80 minutes which in effect we have to have 1 lss hooker in the squad so in effect we are saving money by having Aiton because if we got rid of him we would need 2 players to replace him.

| Just having Aiton as the only 9 is a bad idea. If possible, we should look to move him on and get the best possible deal. I agree with Trojan that Aiton underperformed because of the lack of a back up. If Aiton goes, having McShane and Wildie rotate may not be such a bad thing. However I would sell Washbrook before Aiton as he was the most ineffective player last year.

| I just didn't see that much from Aiton last year for the most part other than the closing stages that's all so don't see him as a must keep. Ofcourse I'd be pleased to see him in trin colours next year but if the right offer comes in hes not a priority for me like kirmond is and Amor was for that matter.

| I'm sure with Aiton fee and contract we could look at McShane, Wildie and Maskill. If we could even secure a player in the Aiton deal + fee then that would be shrewd business. We have to get a little cash and find a team. Aiton as much as I like him is an avenue to 2/3 squad signings for no more cost.

I'd agree with this. Had a cracker against Cas though!

Was it Maskill who played Hooker against Hemel? I was quite impressed by that lad.

Is he actually signed up for next year?
Aiton is a must keep player for me, exactly the type of 'never give up' player we need if we are going to have any chance next year, especially given as Carter has already said he is far from highly paid and excellent value for money. We just need someone to spell him either side of halftime to keep him at his sharpest and Wildie fits the bill perfectly.
