Quote: El Rey "What concerns me is that this is a settled squad from last season and we are going backwards at an alarming rate.

Top 8 is long gone.'"

Totally agree and the things we seem to do regularly wrong, are basic fundamentals of the game.

No wonder we are struggling, you can't rely on scoring 26 points plus every week to have a chance of winning, which is what we have to do cos our defence is not up to scratch.

Time some players were given a week off and some of the fringe players get an opportunity

Another worrying thing is with players already signed up beyond this season and talk of new deals for some of the others, unless our coaching staff can get some major improvement into them, we are gonna have a similar season next year, but asking people to pay more for their tickets

No disrespect to KR but you are right, its these teams we need to be taking points off.

Maybe they'll turn it around and make a late run.

We just simply are not a top 8 team this year. Too many players not pulling their weight this year, which it only takes a few and the rest of the team sinks, yet Agar sticks with the same underperforming individuals. Highlight of the year for me personally has been Annakin.

This is just like the 2006 season with Tony Smith. Games over by half time then a fightback, a good half followed by capitulation or games we should get 40-50 we end up hanging on. Either way 28-0 in 2nd half against a team just above us not good enough and after limping out of the cup this seasons gone. Defeat to Cas next week should be Agar's last game in charge.

Yup wasn't meaning it to sound disrespectful to KR as they are at a similar level to us, so like you say we need to be taking points off these teams. I think we'll probably pip Cas next week but can't see us making the 8 unfortunately

Agar continues to pick his love children that cant do no wrong Lynn in squad over cowling, Mellars 6,4 runs like Vera Duckworth, Washbrook non existant, Aiton not running with ball, Wood total garbage in attack again.Malloy pointless signing. Agar teamtalk must of been awful as we came out doing opposite to what we should. Thankfully I didn't travel and also didn't listen to it after 26:18 although we should have gone into the break at 18:12 if it wasn't for amor giving a cheap penalty for back chat.... Are these guys professionals or just playing at it?

After 1st 10 mins second half it sounded like Hull KR up the physicality and rattled us where we lost our composure and just turned into a penalty machine giving away penalties at will because we couldn't play the game hard and fair back. I knew then we'd lost it then with the crowd possibly also playing their part with the ref.

Our try line defence is also absolutely shocking!! icon_frustrated.gif

Whoever coaches defensive technique needs the sack. Bring in Phil Larder! icon_beat.gif

Think I've just realised that we're not a top 8 club and will end up about 10th. Hope I'm proved wrong but we need more than just relying on creativity through one pivot such as Tim Smith. Agar seems to realise some short comings with talks of contracts ending opening up opportunities for new signings such as Tauti but he could also be playing a clever game insulating himself from criticism. eusa_think.gif

Wood can not take us forward in the halfback position. Get him back to number 9 benching.

But ultimately...the players aren't tough enough and I think that's the bottom line. A team of tryers but lack the tenacity to go out there, keep discipline and just play hard.

Has to be said, when the going gets tough we literally fold over. Has to stop, whatever the reason.

For gods sake, lets get a real standoff. Or give a young academy lad a go in a position he knows.

People slag off Sykes but do think when he's fit he offers something at 6 for us. A steady old head, a bit of creativity and a good kicking game. Can't see anyone else we can afford. I know there are lots of fans of Washbrook but creatively what does he offer? Did he break a tackle today? KR played a prop at 13 didn't they?

Think it's also more about a lack of leadership on the pitch....."If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; . . . If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same . . . Yours is the Earth etc..... When the going gets tough Trin go completely off the boil. Cas will take note and be in our faces next week and will probably win by 20. Poore, Kirmond and T.Smith will be looking elsewhere as their careers are too short to waste at Belle Vue with such mediocrity.

I very nearly posted the same about Washbrook.

Sure he tackles well (not as good as last year either), but his attack is one dimensional and his creativity is nil. I noticed this at hull fc last week. When he received the ball it's effectively the end of any sort of set play or attack.

With this in mind maybe an extra big forward at 13 isn't such a bad idea at all.

Was Lauititi playing today? Didn't hear his name on radio

Wood will never be a superleague standard halfback for as long as he has a hole in his backside. Interchange hooker at best. With Sykes out i'd put Lee Smith there and play Cowling in the centres but Agar will stick with the same old same old. And just what does Molloy bring to the table that Mariano or Walshaw doesn't?

Certain irony that whilst we are sruggling for a stand off Issac John scores a NRL hat-trick for Penrith.

Quote: Tricky2309 "Sounds very disappointing. Today was a real opportunity to put ourselves back in with a shout of the top 8 and we have blown it

Defence needs to be sorted out, too poor for years especially on our own line.

Child's can be a frustrating ref but our discipline is nearly as bad as our defence.

I don't question the effort of the lads, but playing smart is something we seem to struggle with and too often we end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

Agar has had long enough now for us to be seeing some improvements, but sadly it's seems like one step forward two steps back.'"

Agree, I really fancied us today and it would have been 3 wins on the bounce and the talk would have been of another run like last year but like you say we are just far too inconsistent have been all season.

Some of the players need a good long look at themselves in the mirror and man up.

Well we have Agar until the end of next season as he wont quit as he proved at Hull and for me thats who the buck stops at.These players have already shown in certain games they can do the hard yards and win.Look at the 7 game run last year that included some good sides this season they were the best side against Hudds came very close in France so its no use saying this squad aint good enough.Alas before long all the hard work of getting the fans through the turnstiles will be on a long downward slope.

Nothing new its what Wakey do best, let themselves and the club down. Its been like that for ever. The squads not good enough by quite a distance. We can all have our own views on team selection, but at the mo its up to Agar and his neck on the line.
In general we build players up that may have a good couple of games, but in general we aint that good. Ask yourselves how many of the squad would be welcomed at any other SL club .and that's the problem.
You could argue we are not that far away, and with a couple of players could perform much better You could also look at the players that have moved out over the season and ask why, and have the players coming in been any better.
The club need to decide what they want out of next season , then decide how they are going to pay for it. The problem s that if results don't improve , a hike in season ticket sales could well back fire.
