| this is a close one to call. i think the loss of amor is massive to us, as we don't have a big pack anyway, but it is getting smaller and smaller...
for probably the first time ever i am hoping for dry conditions to see wakey throw the ball about. if its wet and muddy, our pack will not cope, but if its an open game.....
heart says wakey, head says KR - head wins - KR by 4
think we are in for a good game....

| You can't read too much into last week, but we looked much fitter in the second half, wether that is a result of the interchange rule/smaller forwards, i don't know.
It will be interesting to see wether a big forward is any more a advantage/disadvantage on a dry or muddy pitch.

i think we can read that we are a fit side. given that we took a serious battering on our own line AND STILL came home with a wet sail by a decent margin suggests we are fit.

| Rovers to win - 24 - 6
MoM - Kris Welham
Sandercock has our guys working on defence and discipline this week so I expect to see improvement in both areas. I reckon our pack will improve on last weeks encounter with Leeds, and will build a solid platform to allow Dobbo, Hall and Withers space to weave their magic.
I thought Wakey did a job on Widnes and expect to see an improved performance but they will defo miss the services of Amor. Charlie will be up for the game but expect Foxy to be targetted and exposed by our wide players. Wakey's work rate will need to go up a fair few notches if they want to register back-to-back victories.
It will be a hard fought arm wrestle in the first half, but Rovers forwards will dominate and we will pull away from Wakey in the second half.

Of course we can fff, but that wasn't my point, the incessant postings about we are too small or we dont have a wrecking ball prop continue after we beat a bigger pack last week.
Wether a big pack will be better in mud or dry if at all, has yet to proved so lets just wait and see what this week brings.
I can see advantages of smaller forwards, that after one game (and only one game) that have yet to be disproved, but lets at least wait for it to happen.
Fit - check
Light - check
Thats all we've got but it worked away at Widnes so lets get on with it - check

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Withers is going well, but Aiton is quality, seems a very clever player.

We deserve something to be carried away about after the last few years, our bubble will burst no doubt and i'll be elated if we finish ninth this season.
But for this week only we sit second in SL and as for getting carried away after a few years of underachieving you're not even the second best club in 'ull let alone SL.
I don't think you'll win by 20, but good luck and make sure you come and have a good afternoon with us daydreamers!!!

wakefields one of my favourite away games and we are the best club in hull naturally and im not getting carried away by the leeds game although it was alot closer than the score suggests good luck for the season especially when you go to the KC

Just been talking to a Leeds supporter who was at last weeks game, he said there was only one player difference between the two sides!!
Look forward to the KR hordes turning up en mass, drive carefully!!

For one game, I don't think so. No doubt Amor IMHO is our best prop and certainly was last week but the others were not far behind - that was what made it so sweet. Long term yes it will be a loss - but that's not where we are yet. We are not a one man team and certainly not a one man pack.
I reckon in Raleigh, Wilkes, Johnson, Ali and possibly Mariano we still have a fairly large pack - the SR and a biggish L/F in Washbrook and workhorse Southern should address the any size advantage you have in the F/R. I'm not kidding myself, RL is an attrition game so size matters long term but short term there are ways around it.
No team will go through SL able to play it's first 17 every game. Leeds won't and have not in the past but it doesn't seem to stop them winning titles and it shouldn't stop us playing to our full potential over a season.

At the end of the day I reckon anyone who predicts a 20pt away victory against any SL team is not dealing from a full deck
