Should both be safe, but it's the RFL, they wouldn't get rid of any of the next group after Cas/Wakey/Salford (Bradford, KR, Crusaders & Quins) would they?

RFL can do what they want, but with a fully funded stadium completed in one phase I would be very confident we would get a licence

| As far as I know nothing will change with regard to the rules. I have seen nothing to indicate otherwise anyway.
It may very well come down to "phasing", however I think it's more than likely that the clubs under threat can be separated without anymore "nit-picking" over stadia. That is only 1 of 5 criteria. And tbf Wake and Cas are ahead of Salford in most (if not all) other areas of assessment.
To stay on topic....
Really pleased with this! IMO a public inquiry was always going to be unlikely with our current government- they are far too costly + we (as a city, county and nation) are crying out for employment and growth, that's what this is in essence- a crown jewel in the renaissance for our district.

| Bradford should be looking over their shoulder. The ground is a 5hithole,they offer nothing to the competition and the fan base is decreasing Even the corners of the pitch are facing an up hill struggle

Bradford will be at risk in 2014 if things don't improve, I feel.

They should be at risk this time, and would be if the RFL actually bothered to use their own criteria.

But it's not really about that is it. I bet the majority of you couldn't care less about all those factors if you weren't at risk from explusion of Super League due to stadia.
If there was no stadium in the plans, would you be supportive? Doubtful. In fact, I'm sure you'd be saying the same line as others with: "there are plenty of other unused office spaces, warehousing and distribution that are rundown and unused that could be utilised instead."
The fact that the very fact the stadium hinges on all that stuff means you have to state the "employment and growth" line even though it is not assured by any stretch of imagination. In fact, the country is achieving growth now without all of that stuff.

| I have had enough of arguing with Cas fans.
I (like many others on here) love my city, and want it and it's citizens to prosper once again, so yes I would care.
Civic pride Fully. You should try it some time.
That's it for me. No more responses to ungrateful citizens in the east.

How is it being ungrateful and more importantly, where have I said that I do not want those factors? The simple fact is, all those factors can be achieved elsewhere as mentioned.
I hate living in run-down places too but the only way to change that is by redeveloping those areas. For instance, using Castleford as an example, the plan is to redevelop the waterfront by the River Aire. I say fab to that as we will have regeneration both sides of the town with Glasshoughton obviously at the other.
However, is Newmarket near enough to Wakefield to make an impact? Obviously, you've got the new developments in the centre of Wakefield. Should we not be focusing on encouraging more growth to the city centre in itself? This is my point.
I, obviously, can see why you state the points in association with Newmarket and anybody would be silly not to as it is obviously one of the key factors with regards to the quality and positive nature of the development itself. However, I just question, honestly, whether you would be so full of enthusiasm for Newmarket if there wasn't any stadium there. I think like me, you'd be looking at the centre of Wakefield for development and redevelopment, surely?
And I apologise if I have upset you with my comments. It wasn't intend to cause any harm, more just an observation from my part.

He made a valid point that you don't agree with so you come out with rubbish like that?
Like I said a few pages back now, it's looking good for both teams and well done all parties involved
Oh, and go on I'll bite, how are Cas ungrateful then? and would you be bothered about a development at Newmarket involving warehouses if it wasn't for the stadium?

| If both go full steam ahead, and Salford too, could Hull KR be at risk? There is another club in Hull, and they would probably have the worst ground, along with Bradford.
Not saying I want Rovers out. They provide a good atmosphere at their place and are one of the bigger away fanbases, and so they bring a lot to the sport, but so much emphasis is on a stadium and geographical proximity now.

Not on this scale theres not, look at unit 41, purpose built distribution units that coca cola and morrisons occupy, newmarket is situated like Unit 41, brilliant location for distribution and why its already created massive interest from business world. I'm supportive of the whole project Stadium and the units, throw in surf world aswell and it's looking like a very good project for the community.

You have to look at what each club brings to the competition as a whole, not just in themselves but to aiding sponsorship and TV rights.
Bradford have a prestigious history as do Hull KR and both, in one way or another, will benefit the game massively. I'm sorry but even in current circumstances both these club dwarf what Cas or Wakey could offer unless the new stadia suddenly turns them into a powerhouse.

I told you the thread would expand when the CLO's started posting their usual bile; several pages of argument will follow, very little of which wil be based on fact, insight or reality and none of which will offer anything new or interesting on the progress of OUR stadium.
I'm with you - it's just boring.

And if you used the criteria factoring in the new stadiums, both KR & Bradford have weaker applications and it should be viewed as such, history doesn't matter - if it did Cas, Wakey and Salford would be safe. If the stadiums are started Bradford & KR should be the 2 the RFL look to kick out.

If you read the thread, you'll see SWC started an argument with himself because he took offence to Fully bringing up a point, instead of explaining it, he had a hissy fit.
