We have all seen these before pay a £1 extra to retain Nigel Wright or invest in a 10 year ticket or the pay so much per month to guarantee your seat in a new ground. I know these were the ideas of Ted Richardson but none of them worked except the £1 on the gate which still went ahead.
I suppose you have a list of supporters who have donated in the past, see if they want to stump up £1000 each to keep you in with those at the club.
You do of course realise that this is only hypothetical it’s just a shame your automatic anger when the ability of those running the club to generate income is brought into question.'"
What the hell has Nigel Wright to do with the current regime.
You really are desperate.
I assume then you have a British car, because clearly by your logic you couldn't possibly have a German or Japanese car due to WW2. As for the Italians, damn those Romans

| Regarding the discussion of 500 people donating £1000 it’s a good idea but only if there’s some credible and tangible outcome.
For example, if there was a scope to renovate the west stand with a 2000-2500 stand then you’d probably have some success. £500000 probably wouldn’t be enough so the club would likely have to match the donation to achieve something credible.
If there was scope to re- surface the west stand with new barriers with a roof and replace those awful boxes with some sort of club room that services away fans refreshments and a bar it would be be highly likely most people would donate who were able imo.
Not sure how much these things cost but a renovation for 1 million would be a fairly significant change looking at the state of it now.

| Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "It’s an idea but one tried by Ted, if there are 100 supporters willing to give the club £1000 each and I say good luck to them. I am sure Vastman will speak to the club about it and come up with some scheme. With regards Trinity what do any of us know about the finances of the club I doubt even Vastman has any actual idea other than what he is being fed by the club.
I am not happy because we appear to consider our financial position a badge of honour something to declare at every opportunity. We are unique in this view maybe there could be a reason for this.
I am not going to change my stance on player recruitment. We don’t help matters with our current stance and even you must accept that we are weakening our squad each season and the end of this could see a further reduction of quality.
I know we have not been paying for the loan on the ground and I presume there is no rent on a property we own so how much did it save us and what did we spend that on.
I am sorry PT if negative comments upset your perfect Trinity world but we have just lose by 64 points to a team that was on the same number of points. I believe your only comment was “ I am glad that’s over” I may be wrong but nothing else, like Vastman let’s move on, the problem is that the squad will basically still be the same for Wigan
Have we heard what is wrong with Hall from the club.'"
I understand that some people have to point out the negatives in a situation… some will prefer to seek out the positives… some will keep quiet… others will be overly vocal… some will not see away in which to change… others will continually suggest new ideas and initiatives…
We lost heavily on Sunday… not the worst defeat I’ve ever seen… but it’s up there amongst them… I’ve seen us inflict similar defeats on comparative teams… but not often …
What is abundantly clear to me is that the club … players, coaches, directors, fans, sponsors are not all pulling in the same direction…
And despite my 40plus years in business, organisational culture… and coaching … I have no idea how this can be addressed … not a clue!

It was an example at the lower end of requests for supporters to pay more albeit a £1 to keep Nigel Wright but in the end it didn’t. The extreme was to pay £20,000 to become an associate Director of the club which I believe one did.
These are merely examples nothing more. I still think you are getting a little carried away I may have missed it but I don’t believe the club had intimated any such idea. I am sure you could discuss this when you next speak to your M as it were and stop the indignation if anyone suggests anything your controllers would want you to defend. I would again reiterate that this is a time where the country is going through a cost of living crisis thereby limiting many people’s surplus income.
I actually have a Swedish car and my wife a Japanese, if I am not mistaken with the exception of possibly Lotus , Morgan and TVR all the main British manufacturers are owned by what many believe are those dammed foreigners. I don’t want to start a debate on the British car industry.

You are in business would you go around telling everyone in your industry that you budget the least on staff because of a limited income stream.

That all needs doing and will be but I don't think the club would use it for that or sell it on that.
A share issue IMO would be sold as a way to refinance the club to allow it to expand it's core business, on field success. So the bulk would be used to fund junior recruitment and retain talent. A small amount would possibly used for off field appointments and general infrastructure.
Back to the west stand. Even to upgrade the terrace to be tidied up and put at pitch level would cost a minimum of 5 -800k, I know because I''ve costed it. To upgrade it to a level where it increases revenue in a noticeable way is more like 1 -2 million. Even then it would still be a terrace but at least one with full cover, but with only a marginal capacity increase.
The latter would be the better option in the longer term but in the short term even the basic reprofile would be beyond the clubs capabilities, even if that share scheme took off, as it would offer no return.
However I'd say watch this space. Once the community side of BV takes off I guarantee you even more councillors will get on board, they all love a good photo op. So imho council funding in the way of grants and cheap loans will be what drives the redevelopment of the rest of the stadium. However that is probably 5 - 10 years away depending on how we do.
Despite what the Pimp thinks I have no insider knowledge this is just how I see it.

TVR don't exist, only Morgan is 100% British owned. Jaguar and Land Rover although not UK owned are clearly a British based company.
As for your wife being Japanese, I'll put it bluntly, you just made that up.

If that is what I had posted yes it would be made up but if you read it again you will see I said I own a Swedish car and my wife a Japanese. I am afraid you are relying way too much on others to provide your thoughts that you are losing your independence.
You will all be glad that I am returning to my holiday, leaving you all to work out how we win on Sunday.

You're losing your mind. That is what you posted. I'm pointing out that TVR are defunct and JLR are still British. I called you out as a liar regarding your wifes origins. Think yourself lucky I believe you have a wife.

| Quote: Belle Vue "I didn’t go yesterday (on holiday) but having now seen the tries and read the comments on here, you don’t have to be Einstein to work out that with our first choice centres out … Salford we’re always going to target this area of the field…
Nor am I going to pick out individuals for criticism, because hopefully, if they are honest with themselves they will be suitably embarrassed by their performance’s..
Trinity are in a difficult situation at the moment we are way down on the cap spend we don’t have a money bags chairman to throw money….. large amounts wasted on expensive Australians I might add….. to keep us challenging for even a mid table finish, so we end up with some players that are not up to the task..
As some of our more sensible posters have mentioned.. we might be able to ease this situation when the new stand and other alterations are completed and we start to generate more income….this hopefully is about a year away, but until then I’m afraid games and barren spells will continue to happen.
After listening to John Minards podcast on trinity heritage you can see that him and Michael Carter both have the best interests of the club at hart… and as a fan I also remain 100% behind the pathway that they take the club down…
John Minards mentioned in his interview about shares he had put into the club… now while I appreciate that we’ as fans are not all flush with cash is this not something that could be looked at? Possibly as a way of bridging the gap between now and the new stand opening…
We all care about the club or we wouldn’t be on here airing our views….
Just putting this out there for discussion …we’re nearly there we just need to hold the line a little longer…because when you look past the results and baron spells the club is moving in the right direction…'"
Was thinking that this was the wrong time to be raising this sort of idea after such a heavy defeat but with hindsight it’s exactly the right time as it highlights our plight in terms of investment. Most people on here love Wakefield Trinity otherwise they wouldn’t be on here. Hopefully you can get some traction on this idea. £1k is a lot of money but when you consider how much of our time, attention and social lives Trinity takes up then for those who can afford then it’s a small price. Like many on here I had some of the old Ted shares in the club and I also knew they were worthless but they meant and still do mean the world to me.
I was there on Sunday and it was tough watching but it felt a bit like a line in the sand day. WTID

Let’s say he made some odd decisions in his time and leave it there…
What I do know from listening to Micheal Carter and John Minards is that they don’t come across as the kind of people who would use the opportunity to cash in ….so to speak…'"
Just pointing out BV that share issues have not been very successful in the past.
I've got every faith in the honesty of MC & JM, and I'm making no insinuations whatsoever against them. Please don't try to read something into what's not there.
