| Quote: Eastern Wildcat "Lets just hope that Manni can help us to deliver what we want.
Again, looking at his website and some of his twitter feeds has been involved in quite a lot of developments, so will be used to dealing with planning permission and making the right noises etc.
Also dealing in Aviation, Yachting and Hotels, which there is a lot of money in those businesses, down the line could he maybe invest into the club with MC'"
I agree but what's in it for him - to get his investment back I reckon a serious rent hike would take place.
I'd be interested to know what Wigan or Saints or Hull pay for their tenancy (and please fans of those clubs don't say you don't). Then compare with what we pay now. If the sums match up and the money a new stadium at BV generates covers the difference then I suppose it could be a goer.
I've got a feeling we pay roughly 200k ish for the dump now, I'm assuming double that for a modest refit say 400k a year. However if that extra 200k is matched by a 200k+ in revenue then yeah. My figure by the way are nowhere near scientific
I'm also basing the above on the hope that Manni? will treat the club as an investment hence the finance will be more genorous than normal, maybe just enough to get his money back - so it's a long shot tbh.

| Wouldn't that be when stand sponsorship/naming rights come into play? In a perfect world it would be great advertising for someone, an innovative stadium, never done before, would bring with it great publicity via Tv, newspapers online etc.

| Quote: vastman "It's not a dampener at all.
It is very feasible and workable but so was Thornes, NM and even a revamped BV. Sadly the will from those with the abilities to make it happen remains totally lacking.
I can come up with a dozen such ideas and you can sit in a thousand meetings but until a real facilitator appears we are getting more stuffed by the day.
To me money though a major factor is not the issue it's all to do with the will. The people of the merry city are constantly being let down by their famous sons who's won't step up to the plate, whether politicians, businessmen or other assorted dignitaries and it's a disgrace.
Currently the clubs survival, not the ground just the club depends on a well meaning but not excessvly wealthy guy from Hull (I believe). No offence to MC but that's fecking shocking.
I know all the pitfalls of my recent idea. It's meant as a point of discussion put forward in the hope that there might be elements of it that people were not aware of and from small acorns etc. I don't see what I put as an actual final solution.
Just read the first link for the Canada one again before dismissing it completely to see what's actually possible. However I know what you mean and frankly my best suggestion is that the supporters trust have a whip round for a lotto ticket, how tragic that's where we are after 12 years.
Finally and I hope you don't take this the wrong way but when people like yourself or anybody for that matter get so engrossed in a project you can develop tunnel vision and obsess on one solution as if its the only one which it rarely is, Sometimes it takes a eureka moment from the outside (usually the wife in my case), usually a statement of the obvious that's been staring us all even the great and the good in the face from the start. I'm not suggesting this is it although I do feel there is an element of it that could be a useful compromise solution. So please don't fall into the trap of dismissing everything just to prove you were right - knowing you as I do I don't think you'd ever do that but it can't harm anyone to be reminded.
i think you're doing a great job under near impossible circumstances so no criticism intended, it's more a case that if I hadn't suggested this and there could be some value in it to you (SWAG) and the club i'd never forgive myself.'"
All of what you say is true, and none of it taken as criticism. I do think there is merit in the ideas you propose, but we need to have the knowledge and security of ownership / leasehold to even think about this stuff.
My mind is very much open - I'm a fan of Newmarket, for reasons you know, but I couldn't give a monkeys where it was built now, provided any solution, new or refurbished, were to provide the facilities the club needs to maintain and improve its ability to trade and therefore service the community in which we live. BV seems like the most obvious solution, and would satisfy many a need for heritage etc, although little of recognition would remain, but that is now wrapped up in a battle between 2 developers, both of whom probably just wish they didn't have either us, the supporters, or the club to deal with.
Manni is a developer. He will want wants best for him and his company - as he is entitled to do. Our goal is to try and ensure that he believes that his purpose is best served by including us within any solution he puts forward.
If I had time, I'd write the book!

| I wonder who owns all the land that hugs the new Eastern relief road, plenty of room round there, good access from the motorway, room for car parks, and not too many residents for opposition.

| One thing that could be in it for him indirectly could be networking which in business could be a big thing.
MC says the only thing that is holding the club back is the stadium and that on the playing front things are moving in the right direction
As a club becomes more successful the profile of the club and directors increase.
As he has no other sporting ventures he will be mixing with businessmen that he may not have done previously. This could then go beyond rugby league to other sports.
New sports stadia and improvements are being made all the time, and if a BV development was a success some club could come looking for the services of a respected developer.
He is also associated with Hotels. How many stadiums are also now looking at building hotels close by to their facilities?

Plenty of residents on the way in the next 20 years around the Eastern relief road, i am sure i read the plans are for around 2000 houses ,a school, health premises, shops etc.to be built over 20 years ,some new houses have already been built at the start of the Relief Road at Bar Lane / Aberford Road junction.

| Who owns the land directly opposite the new fire station on Silkwood.
A big flat site that could easily accommodate stadium and parking. It is non residential and of course excellent links to the RL heartland.
Have always thought it strange that this area was never really muted.
Oh, and it's in Wakefield.

I don't know if things have changed but 4 years ago they were paying £15,000 per home game.

You're right there is, I live on the main road right next to it, it's 2500 houses that are getting built, the majority on the old strawberry Fields area, plus like you say a new school etc. and a couple of show homes have already gone up.

Are new locations ie eastern relief road or other areas of the City getting considered and put toward by the stadium trust?

There is land at two locations: Newmarket and Belle Vue. The lack of willingness to put a new ground on either is the problem, it seems.
