Every team want any player last year from us!
Now Salford have signed Hood, they may use Fages as starting hooker.
With Dobson and Chase the first choice halves.
Can't see Will Hope being one, he's a loose forward and if we did sign him, where and when would he play?
Would get pigeon holed as another Molloy.

| Quote: Tricky2309 "I like Sammut as an off the cuff player and would like him to play stand off with Smith at scrum half. However, if Sammut is not going to be a regular we need to move him on as we cant afford a wedge of our salary cap sat in the stand for the majority of the season.'"
Sammut kicks goals' for fun he's one of the best in SL, he's not bad at scoring tries' either but very iffy defending at FB but good in attack, yet for some reason can't get a game, presumably if he's coming here Fages must have been promised first team football otherwise why come, likewise if Sammut is going the other way he must also have been promised the same. Some people on here it would seem prefer Godinet at Stand off but are prepared to let him go to hooker to accommodate Fages with Timmy, If Sammut can't get a start at SO what chance him, the only solution I can think is a straight swap for McShane if as said Salford are interested and Fages, to share hooking duties with Godinet, Roll on next month which by then everything should have been sorted and things won't feel as complicated.

He does as a Rugby League player which is why Wigan brought him through and stood by him, why SL and some NRL Clubs fought to sign him and why he was almost Universaly selected by everyone in the 2013 England World Cup squad.
As a human being I agree with you which is why I emphasised him being settled!

| The one good thing about our club is that the likes of Hock would not consider us big enough for his ego. He is nothing more than a glory seeker and when that is not fulfilled at a club he does everything possible to get out and find another if they fail he will do the same again.
I find it amazing that some can find a place for Fages by moving Godinet but surely that same move can be done to accommodate Sammut. In the games I have seen him play he always puts in 100% and looks a dangerous with the ball and an excellent kicking record.

| I prefer Sammut to Fages but we have to be realistic we need to secure Tim Smith and some sort of player exchange may be on the cards possibly although I hope not. It'd be great to see Sammut and Smith forming a consistent attacking threat off a promising pack going forward.
But one of the top players we have doesn't seem to be one of the first names on the paper for most of the season hence the suggestion he may be the one we have to let go if not in the coaches thoughts.
Hock needs to take his ego and emigrate to the NRL.

| I wonder if season ticket sales would get a boost if we announced Tim Smith on Monday and Gareth a Hock on Tuesday

| Why would anyone actually think we are signing Hock, I presume he wants to go to St Helens which currently suits is modus operandai. He would not last a game in the NRL hence I presume his desire would be to stay in SL.
With regards Smith why should we look to do a player exchange because Salford need him off the books and to free up a quota spot. It could be said we would be doing them a favour.

Yes and it get people talking about us, I don't think we will sign Gareth Hock but he would be a risk worth taking, a focussed Hock could win games on his own.

We have already had two 'enfant terrible' on our books in Goulding and O'Neill, so I think a third would be unwise.
As for the Tim Smith, Jarrod Sammut swap, is Sammut still exempt?
