| Quote: Slugger McBatt "Why would a Hull fan who seems to think Agar is okay have a picture of Agar in a Wakey top as his profile picture? Sounds to me like he is trying to drum up support for him in Wakey.
Don't want to burst your covert bubble, but I don't think spies during the Cold War wore huge badges on their macs that said "I am a secret agent". You need to rethink your strategy. Harry Palmer you are not.'"
Maybe I'm a double agent .
In all seriousness, I hope Agar comes to you - I also hope Sam Obst comes to you. That's not to say I don't rate either of them at all, I just don't rate their ability to lead a team into the top 4 - which we are realistically aiming to do. I didn't mean to sound as condescending towards Wakefield as I probably came across. The fact is though, you're on an awful run with a pretty poor team and I think even the most optimistic of you would be happy pushing for the play-offs next season.

I'd settle for 8th next year. Our squad isn't going to be drastically different, and so 8th would be a big improvement, and a building block.
I think the difference with us now for the future is that before Glover came, every year was just another struggle, with just the hope of a new ground making a difference. Now, with some financial clout and a vision, with hopefully a new ground, 8th won't be acceptable in six years.

| OF you've got it wrong again. We were awfully run and yes this term we've got the worst team in the league. However we're now run much more professionally and have a great marketing and commercial team, wev've made some useful signings for next season with more to come and we'll be spending much closer to the cap at 1.3 million this coming season so hopefully we'll be nuch closer to the likes of FC KR Leeds etc but still a little short of Wigan Saints Wire but hopefully we'll be competing in every game.

I hope you do, It's only good for the game to have more teams spending close to the cap (aslong as they can do it sustainably).

| Quote: vastman "I agree. Don't you think everyone who has ever got involved thought like that. You won't accept my word for it I know but it's just not that simple.
If running Leeds were a game it would be chess - so long as you don't make a wrong move you can't lose.
Trinity is like snakes and ladders it so random, I don't think I really need to explain any further.
I'm sure you think you could fix it with a plan and a spreadsheet but you couldn't....you really couldn't.
I now prepare myself for the standard allegations of being a Ted poodle, pessimist and anti AG and all his family.'"
I like the analogy of snakes and ladders it sums up Wakefield Trinity perfectly.
Like all dice games, they are totally a game of chance, where as games such as chess are games of strategy.
Spreadsheets and plans are pointless in a game of chance but they can be useful in games of strategy, but they are without question important in running a business.
This is where the old Wakefield and the Wakefield we have currently differ.
We have the beginings of a good plan, for the plan to develop further and ultimately propel us where we want to be, we need a little catalyst to go with the plan and the spreadsheets.
That catalyst could be the appointment of some stand out players, a quality coach, good news on Newmarket or all three.
Get them right and we will generate the king of interest and cash needed to put the plans into action.
AG has a plan, he also has pledged money for ground improvements and squad development, we need to get the catalyst bit right to fire the imagination of a previously apathetic/disenfranchised public involved.
The drive for STs will provide valuable cash up front for the club, which will hopefully drive the plan.
The difference is stark, to the dark days of the last few years in particular, as we never had a plan, only to fire fight.
The club must continue to get things right in term of creating a optimistic future for the supporters of this club, continue to develop income streams, but the fans must buy into it, and frankly if 2500 supporters aren't prepared to pay £7.63 a game to watch top flight rugby, AG is wasting his time and his money.
At the moment I'd say it's definitely more like a game of chess than snakes and ladders, accepting that we may be starting without a few key pieces, but more than we have had in previous years.

Why should we be just happy with pushing the top 8 ?
You have no more right to be challenging than us, so you can take your ill formed opinion and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.'"
I am a Hull supporter and was at Castleford last night. I also have also gone to Wakefield many times. I wish to say that I have no interest in who you new coach maybe and would not would not offer any suggestions in that direction.
This year, I posted on you site the night before the new franchises were about to be announced, when most of your supporters were about to wear sack cloth and ashes. I recall wishing your club and supporters all the best and stating that I thought all might not be lost. The following day, you were saved and I was pleased and said so, [again on your site]. Apart from when your team plays Hull, I hope that you win.
After you comments and other Wakefield supporters about hoping Hull loose etc., I may have to have a re-think about your club. I hope that your thoughts are not shared by most Wakefield supporters.

I am a bit of a Hull fan really, they are well supported and add a 'colourful' atmosphere when they visit BV. I also remember the Hull support on another occasion for WTW and remember banners of support from Hull FC prerviously at BV. What we should be doing is emulating some of the things Hull do-quality player recruitment for a start. So thanks to Hull FC for your support of us in the past and the best of luck, next season, for all except two games!

I think if you enjoy listening to foul mouthed, drunken fans who are happy to swear at women and kids and leave you feel intimidated, then I agree, Hull is great away day. Personally I don't, so I wish them no luck what-so-ever.

| I love matches against Hull and I love going to the K.C even though its bit chilly on friday nights. I would like them to have some success in the playoffs, as it would make a change to your usual Grand Final "regulars" e.g Saints, Leeds, Wigan...

drama queen alert!
didn't realise BV and the vast majority of other stadiums have righteous supporters who have never sworn in their life at rugby
intimidated? never seen any trouble at the kc when wakefield fans are visiting and vice versa.

So basically you've taken offense to a Wakefield fan, who took offense to something a Hull fans said,

I've heard swearing at every ground, but only in Hull have I seen it directed at women and children. And I've witnessed foul mouthed behaviour from FC fans at the Boulevard, the KC, Belle Vue, the Keepmoat and Wembley which is enough to convince me it's not a minority.
