| Quote: sixtogo "Thats a very naive way of thinking.
Think back a couple of years. A club had just signed such overseas luminaries as Shane Tronc, Daryll Millard and Ben Jeffries on healthy contracts. Midway through that season they brought in further players such as Julien Rinaldi and Charlie Leano. This is despite publicy having cash flow issues the previous close season which lead to a little problem with the HMRC that was swept under the carpet quickly (sound familiar?). Anyway just a few months later that club went into administration despite receiving a £165,000 boost from a generous benefactor and very nearly disappeared forever.
Any ideas who that club was? And for a bonus, who was its chief executive?
A little piece of history repeating? Lets hope not, all the rumours are false and the clubs owings all get paid PDQ. But don't ever think that because a club gets new staff it is doing fine, it means nothing.
For instance bob down to Thornes park and you'll see the ducks look graceful floating on the water, but underneath it is flapping like hell to appear to stay upright and moving forward. But it can't keep it up forever and eventually it runs out of energy and has to rest on dry ground otherwise it would sink. Its then eveything is exposed and all of a sudden things look a little more unstable. And thats us and I hasten gto add we are not alone. We and others have to put on a show that nothing is wrong. It doesn't mean that that is the case.'"
You call it naive, I call it logical. It's a different owner now and given the (lack of)transparency of sports clubs' finances we have no other option than to trust Glover. Unless you think debating about finances you know nothing about is going to get you anywhere?
With the form we're in I've been worrying about every game no matter who we play and this is no different. We need to start where we left off at Wigan. An 80-minute performance would be nice. Tthe most important thing is we play smart rugby.

| The Salford team looks alot stronger than ours on paper, they have some excellent players, Snyd always plays well against us, Gaskill, Gleeson, Griffin etc can all cause us problems. Salford were very unlucky not to win the game at Belle Vue, they were the much better side that day. We have to be at our very best to compete tonight. We will see in the first few minutes if our lads are up for it. Fingers crossed.

| Our biggest or at least most effective attacking weapon at the moment is Collis. Nede to get him ona one on one as often as we can.

Think you're right there Belly, I think you can always tell in the first five minutes what's in store for us!

| I'm glad Wilkes is starting. He has been consistent this year and no one seems to give him any recognition. Much improved on previous seasons in my opinion.

| Agree, I didn't know why Wilkes was dropped against Castleford. Wilkes either plays terrible or rubbish - he has been playing pretty well this season.
Looking forward to the game, I hope we can get the win! The team looks strong I guess Wood has been dropped because he won't be with us next season and our first choice halfbacks are in the mix again. Wildie good to see back on the bench and also Walshaw who keeps his starting position in the backrow. Ali on the bench will be a good impact if he is brought on like he was at Leeds. Also glad to see Mariano back in the squad now lets hope we get the 2 points!

Might help if the club clarified matters with some communication

Just noticed this comment & you're joking right?
I've got to say there's nothing like under rating you're own side is there. Even with the benefit of hindsight, there's no way Salford's team looks stronger than ours anywhere.

Yes I did see that comment, I assume it was tongue in cheek? Surely?
