| As far as Smith goes he has been woeful on all but 1 occassion since he has returned from RU. He has put on too much bulk? since RU which has made him slow. McD has given him far more opportunities to prove himslef than McShane so cannot complain. If he decides to leave 1 pie in Greggs he might make a good player.
I would do a swap happily, your Smith for ours.

| Quote: Gotcha "Because his face doesn't fit, and he hasn't done enough to push himself in front of other players.
On your argument why on earth is Amor not playing for England? or indeed was considered not good enough for the Rhinos. [iQuote: Gotcha "Or why isn't Aiton playing for his country?'" [/i
By contrast, the players in front of Smith for a jersey are of course playing for their countries.'"
Er, Aiton is a PNG international. But now your lack of knowledge has been exposed you now choose to say something along the lines of, "it's only PNG". The only country in the world that has Rugby League as it's national sport. The guy can't help where he was born. He plays for and captains his country an achievement that is acknowledged in any sport.

| Dean Collis & Peter Fox are both significantly better than Lee Smith. And based on this season dare i say it our entire backline are in better form than him (Mather except)! But he'll do a job covering injuries and as previously said Smith has potential, he showed it before moving to Union.

| Yes could be good for us but if not its only a months loan. Not looked anything like he did before he went to union but some times a change of club can make a differance even if its only a months loan.

Pretty much how I see it, if he doesn't pull his weight and look good he'll find himself sat on the sidelines for a couple of weeks, it's in his own best interests to impress, whether it's us or any other side.

| Quote: Gotcha "Yes. Far more quality. He is a proven match winner from individual quality.
Could Amor play any of the back positions better than Smith? No, but I bet Smith would make a better shot at Prop than Amor would at fullback.
Could Aiton play any of the back positions better than Smith? No, and I bet Smith would make a better shot at Hooker (which he is actually very good at) than Aiton would at fullback.'"
hes that good he cant get a game in a very poor Leeds side bad move by Agar we want players who want to be at Wakefield send him back and give the kids a chance

Considering Gotcha is usually so pessemistic on our board it's strange to see his arrogance in one of his favourites' qualities. Hope Smith goes well for you.

| Quote: Theboyem "If this is a prelude to seeing how he goes before signing him fulltime for next year instead of mathers then i can see mileage in it. Better bet than Tansey or Mcgoldrick thats for sure. If its just as a stop gap for this season then its a waste of money as we have enough cover in the squad already.'"
Agree, although I'm not all that keen on this signing, especially when we have youngsters in our squad desperate for a chance. If we are keeping our options open regarding Mathers or any alternative then this is a sound move.

| Please don't assume all Leeds fans are as arrogant as Gotcha has been on this thread.
As for Smith, Ive spoken to him a few times as I coach his son and he comes across as a decent lad.
Sadly he hasn't performed well (barring the odd one-off) for a long time. You'd have to go back to 2008 to find his last consistent run of good form and then he was almost on his way but his performance in the Grand Final that year got him another year before he went to union.
Sadly I just can't think of any area where he excels. He's not particularly big, not particularly strong, doesn't have outstanding handling and has most certainly lost his pace.
Gotcha was also being silly claiming the only reason he's not in the Leeds team because his face doesn't fit or because the other players are regular internationals.
His face fits fine at Leeds, he isn't a disciplinary problem at all, the problem is his ability and performances have declined sharply.
If he was as good as Gotcha claims then he'd have been first choice to replace Webb when he got injured. Also Hardaker, Watkins & Jones-Bishop can't be classed as internationals yet.
Its great for Leeds, we get Smith playing at a better level than u20's. Not quite sure what he brings to Wakefield other than steady-as-you-go.

| It was probably a mistake going back to Leeds where the expectations of him were so high. A few good performances at Trin could reignite his career, although his fitness levels are a worry. For backs, speed is king.
On another point, to any Leeds fans (or coaches), please ignore the posters on here suggesting Aiton and Amor are any good. They're lucky to get a game at SL level. It's only because they play for lowly Wakefield, anywhere else they'd be in the 20s. Nothing to see here.
