Quote: TRB "Met with the club yesterday. Agreed a way forward. Some behind the scenes stuff to do.

I'm sure questions will be asked at the forum, but we remain limited in what we can say - for now!

Thank you all for your support.'"

Is that agreed a way forward to which stadium option we're going for or the way we will be challenging York Cort?

This thing changes by the hour - or it seems that way at times!

We think we've got clarity on something then - bang - something else happens and it all opens up again.

I have made my views clear again today - including that I am in the NM camp, but I am more than happy with BV - provided it meets the criteria we set for NM. However, I still couldn't say which way to place your money as a betting man - there are arguments and reasons for and against both schemes right now.

Genuinely wish I knew. What I do know is that we have a group of very determined people who are willing to keep this fight going for as long as it takes! I am very proud to work with them - and they know who they are! a014.gif

It ink I'm in the redevelop BV camp but only just and have perhaps been swayed by the probabability that it's the most likely outcome

Either way knowing the people involved Sandal Cat TRB IA Sir Rodney and the Chairman, I know we have a genuine and very capable team working hard for the club.

It annoys me something rotton that YorkCourt used every single one of us. Help fight the corner for the ground and the development and now they have dropped us like a bad apple. It actually burns me inside and I want revenge.

could this be an answer to a cheaper stadium build.
www.pudseysteel.co.uk/index.php/our-projects
gone into administration the system is already in place just requires new owner

I wonder if this ever went through. I remember a post with the link to the bidding page. £2m was the price IIRC.

Doesn't look like it as their only decent stand is nothing like the one you pictured

This is Darlington FC's old ground. Their previous chairman somehow managed to have a state of the art stadium built between his visits to prison and despite hostile opposition from the council. Darlington FC didn't really need a 26000 stadium with average attendances of 2500 and they went through several financial collapses until losing their ground and being forced to drop many divisions.

The Council ended up in ownership and have done a deal with Darlington Mowden Park RUFC, giving them the stadium and several million pounds in exchange for their former ground which is ripe for housing development. So now DMP play in approx Div 7 of RU with average crowds of about 11 (excluding the accompanying dogs) rattling around in a 26000 seater stadium.

Meanwhile, Feethams, Darlington's traditional ground is rotting away. Darlington FC are homeless and potless and the new stand at the old ground which was perfect for Darlington's needs just sits there watching the weeds grow. Feethams is difficult to develop as it is bounded by a stream and huge Victorian terrace houses down 2 sides and hemmed in by Darlington CC on the other sides through which access was gained to the football ground. There is not much more room for this stand at Feethams than we have on our Western Terrace. I suspect the whole thing belongs either to Darlington CC or a bank ( if one was foolish enough to lend anything to George Reynolds) and either would be desperate to get rid.

And which side would you replace West or East?
Either side would lose the standing area if you did use it.

I have to say this would look great at Belle Vue but would alter the place significantly.

Why would we buy this stand erect it at belle vue when the ground does not
belong to us, why make improvements to someone elses property d040.gif
Buy the ground first tarting it up now will only put the price up.

I wasn't advocating not buying the ground back first, naturally that would kick off any improvement, although it didn't stop Glover putting a roof over the North Stand.
