| Whilst this Planning Application is the most important thing on our radar at the moment it is only one of many applications that the Secretary of State/Planning Inspectorate are dealing with at the moment. Delays are not uncommon and invariably do happen.
As I have said earlier no reason for concern.

| This is the answer -
[iDear Mr Stone
A decision on the proposed mixed use development (including community stadium and warehousing) at Newmarket Lane will not be made by the target date of 19 June. A revised target date has not been set but we aim to get a decision out as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely[/i
I suspect that is good as we are going to get today. We might get an update tomorrow!

| Could it be political? If I remember correctly the LDF is going to be ratified on the 20th at a meeting of Wakefield council and after which the land will no longer have any green belt on it. They can then announce the building of a great new stadium and warehouse on a brown field site without any back lash from tree huggers.
Just a thought.

Other than the typical delays that can occur within governmental departments, could there be anything coming out of any woodwork to cause the delay ?
My naive understanding of the deadline was that the decision would be public by the 19th June.

| Other agencies have clauses written into contracts with penalties for not meeting deadlines, particularly if the government are the ones wanting deadlines adhered to.
Doesnt seem to work the other way round.
Cannot say I am surprised based on my previous dealings with official bodies .
It is immoral really to have so many people in limbo.

No. The Inquiry is complete and the decision will already have been made, its just the announcement that that has been delayed.
Tantastic makes a good point on the LDF being ratified by Council on 20th June. If the planning was approved on the 19th and then Council failed to ratify the LDF (highly unlikey) it would look a bit odd, planning granted on land that's still green belt.
I think we'll have our decision before the end of the week.

| Sorry to have missed all the fun, but I've been out at work.
All I can say is to confirm what IA has already mentioned. I see this is as nothing more that them not seeing a deadline in the same way as we do and I remain 'confident but not complacent' that we will get the right result - when the SoS can be bothered!
Stay calm and carry on!
