Just to clarify because it is news to most of us that Glover had the stands erected but never paid for them. You appear to have a track to information not readily available.
I won't take you up on your suggestion but if the ground is in such bad shape it might happen naturally and if you are really lucky it could a few more of those who aren't willing to accept everything on face value.

Rumour I heard Glover somehow got Rodney Walker to fund the stands. No idea whether it's true or not.

I remember thinking how much progress the club had made under glover , how wrong could I have been. I felt cheated and totally let down. I know many have different views but the ground was a great place to visit during that brief period. Did they really give that many free tickets away at that time because I remember long queue s to get in.

I was just clarifying your statement regarding who paid for the stands because it appears to have been news to many on here. I was not justifying Glover where you get that from from my post somewhat baffles me unless of course you are trying divert the topic to what a bad person he was. I notice you did not reiterate that Glover did not pay, well did he or was it left to MC and the current board.

Maybe Glover did pay for the stands in an effort to get mor people through the turnstiles but unfortunately those extra people did come but they probably came for free, which by the sounds of it, is the only way you feel you get value for money out of Trin.
There have been people busting their balls to try to get the club on a even keel but you seem to take great pleasure in jumping on everything negative.

I Would of thought that if the current board had to pay for the stands it would be a positive for them because it would explain why they had to make such swingeing cuts. I don't see anything negative in that but I think some of you are jumping to your friends defence without reading my post. I would also point out that I have not lowered myself to ending each post with an insult.

IIRC we were told that Glover had "loaned" money to pay for the stands and it was a condition of the new board taking over that this loan was not to be called in.
Whether this still shows somewhere in the clubs accounts, I've no idea.

Once again we seem to be entering the great cut debate. I'm sure savings had to be made for the club to move forward , the problem is we haven't. The club depends on people turning up either through season ticket sales or on the day. We were promised a team to compete in S L and that just never happened due to cuts. We have seen a club run with little or no imagination particualy over the last 12 months. We now find ourselves fire fighting to remain in SL. You can not spam up the fact that the clubs in a bit of a mess, we have a vast number of players out of contract, the possibility of no home next season and a new squad to assemble for next season. We stumble from one season to the next unable to make solid foundations. On the plus side we have a coach who knows the game and will get the best out of the players while ever he's around. Not good is it in all honesty. The club needs a totally new approach.

No it doesn't - it needs an owner with bottomless pockets who is prepared to spend money in the full knowledge that s/he will never get it back; and there aren't many of them around.

not likely to be any around with our record. Still it's pleasing to know that you are happy with the clubs direction.
