| Quote: wrencat1873 "Some of this makes very unpleasant reading.
There appear to be regular problems with some of he stewarding on match days and the rules appear to change, without notice, at regular intervals.
Whilst I have no sympathy with folk that are drunk and abusive being turned away, it is absolutely crazy for the club to alienate long standing decent fans.
What happened to "the customer is always right".
It's really disappointing to hear that loyal fans feel that things are so bad that they have to walk away form their club and let's hope that either time or someone from the club can perhaps remedy some of the individual cases, it would certainly be worth the time and effort.'"
Especiaally when the fan concerned helped with fund raising for Brennan Rooney, Adam Watene and Leon Walker. He was also a regular on the walks from Wakey to Huddersfield.

There is a massive distinction between the "I'm not coming again because they've changed the pies" and hacking off longstanding loyal fans.
Obviously, it's none of my business but, it's a crying shame that people that actually want to come and pay money to watch Wakefield, feel that they can/should no longer do so.
We actually want more of this type of supporter and not be turning them away.
Also, I'm not trying to have a go at the club here, it just seems that they should, in some circumstances, work harder to look after their "customers" (of course, being a Wakefield supporter runs far deeper than just being a customer)

| I don't think I will be renewing my ST for the first time in twenty odd years. Work commitments mean I will struggle to get to 10 games max next year. A quick glance at my ST tells me that I have 5 unused stubs already.
At the £150 I paid for it that was fine and I was happy to stand the missed matches but at £220-£250 I may just have to be a pay as you go next season.
On another note, what caused big Al to call it a day ?
I had a quick look back but could not see anything. When we are losing supporters like him we really are in trouble.

From what I can gather he was thrown out of the ground. Not sure why but I think it's plastic bottle related.

I tend to ignore that - because it's simply not true; a quick glance through this forum will bear that out.
As for the OAP issue - I don't know of any other circumstance where 60 is considered to be an OAP; I thought 65 was the standard threshold in every other walk of life? It seems reasonable for the club to bring that policy into line with the norm - as part of the 'no more freebies' approach.
I don't know the details of the Big Al issue but it does seem like the club have got this one badly wrong; I'd suggest that it would be worth some of MC's times to get across this matter, get the protagonists sat down and work out an amicable way to settle the dispute. Al deserves better, and it wouldn't do the club's reputation any harm at all to be seen to have resolved it.

| MC isn't interested, the club say they have dealt with the issue properly. MC will not listen to anyone about this. All Al wanted was an apology which they refused to give, in fact they just blamed him. MC has had emails from other well known supporters yet ignored even them. I'm resigned to the fact I won't be watching Wakefield until Al does as I will back my family over the club. If that means waiting for MC to leave that's what will happen. I know Al thinks there is more to this than just a misunderstanding, I believe he feels it's personal. I mean if it was your business and you needed all the money you could get, you would apologise to a longstanding supporter.

"The customer is always right" is only ever a starting point and the ethos is to view any concerns from the customer standpoint.
Of course they aren't always right BUT, the scales seem to be slanted away from the Trinity "customers" sometimes.
The main difficulty for MC and his team is that so many things needed to change when they took over and although many, many things seemed to have improved, some aspects have not.
The smoking policy has changed, which as a non smoker doesn't affect me personally (apart from not having someone stood nearby blowing smoke in my direction but, sometimes the main exits on the North Stand were open with large numbers standing outside the ground to have a HT cigarette, then other weeks the gates would be closed and this caused upset with people wanting to get out for a smoke.
Also stewarding has been different this season, compared with last.
Sometimes efficient and friendly and on other occasions, not so.
There has to be both common sense and continuity with how things are done, after all most of us are creatures of habit and perhaps some better communication from the club would be helpful.

| The stewarding at BV this season has been nothing short of a joke. Rules changing every 2 minutes, Stewards being rude and arrogant while enforcing them etc. All things I have been subjected to first hand.
From game to game you don't know what to expect, not a good experience for a customer.
On the field things are spot on, off the field we have a long way to go!!

The big issue is how do the club change the situation.
We are wanting to increase attendances but, the first contact for all fans entering Belle Vue, is with the security staff and as we have all seen, this isn't adding to the match day experience.

Being a non smoker who brings neither food nor drink with me nor shouts offensive remarks, I find I am just as oblivious to the Stewards as I have always been.

| The club badly needs a PR man like Glover. It's a real shame the club was run financially so badly, because he was certainly able to sell the product. When Glover was in charge, it did feel like we were all in it together. Now, being a fan is like flying on Ryanair, that it would be great if it wasn't for the passengers.
Even yesterday, MC's Twitter was season ticket targets but with the added "isn't too much to ask". It's the added digs at the fans, and whatever went on with Al is another example.
The ideal scenario is MC's hard-nosed business head with a PR man like Glover. Having just one of them isn't maybe that great for business.

You sir, are the only person who has even remotely taken my tweet 'as a dig at the fans' Every reply I have had to it has seen it as a realistic and great challenge.
In response to your other points and the overall gist of this thread, feel free to find someone else to run things as you want? I said from day one I would happily step aside for anyone who wanted to take on the great privilege of running the club. It's nearly a year since I stepped up. There's not exactly been a queue forming round the block? And please don't take this as throwing my dummy out. That is certainly not the case. I will have a dignified discussion with anyone. Despite being the recipient of a 'social media bombardment' from a certain person.

| Well I've supported the mighty Trin 30 + years and a season ticket holder for most of them and have never had any problems with the stewards. Then again I abide by stadium rules and support the club I love. I will definatly be renewing next season and look forward to our remaining games this season as we're playing some excellent RL. Some supporters love a moan some love to support.
TRINITY FOREVER

| Regarding season tickets sales for next season if we finish the season playing like we have been and keep adding/ resigning the current squad we will easily achieve our target. If we get positive stadium news, that will help our cause and put a more positive light on our future. It surprises me the negativity by some on this forum regarding our club as everyone I speak to are more positive about Trin and are enjoying watching Trin more than they have in a long time.
