| I guess next time the players could unfurl a banner as they stand spelling out "no to racism" or something similar. That way both left and right can not take the stance out of context.
I think the general issue is BLM, when I last read about it, is protesting against ant-black racism. To me its unhelpful to sub-divde such an issue. Racism is racism whether its against Black, Asian, Arab, Aboriginee, Hispanic or even dare I say it white.

Why, they have made there choice that should be the end of it. Why is everyone so desperate to accommodate the twitter mafia. In reality a group of a few thousand trolls who are holding an entire nation to ransom.

| Who remembers just a few years ago the slogan of the day then was : "KEEP POLITICS OUT OF SPORT". What happened??? Perhaps it would be better if both players and officials just walked out onto the pitch, took up their playing positions and kicked off. How refreshing that would be.

| I’ve just been watching this weeks episode of fourty 20. If MC has seen last night, or received information of what has been said, then I’m not surprised he closed his twitter. I’ve always thought that Phil Caplin, was an ok journalist, but not after listening to his comments today, will I never purchase his magazine again. He wants to pander to the twitter fanatics, one minute he saying the game needs to debate how as a sport we deal with taking the knee, and dealing with some players views re religion etc, then he comes out with the statement along the lines of “as a sport, all players must take the knee, otherwise, they can’t play. He thinks the game’s sponsors, Sky, Might be upset, and we have to respect the BLM movement and take the knee. What the Hell, other Coaches within our game say they respect their players decision on wether to take knee or not. How can our game’s governing body instruct players on what political stance they should take. The twitter brigade have got the likes of Caplin, running scared, and allowing themselves to be bullied. God, if I ever see him at BV again, he’ll get a right telling off. I hope MC, the club stick to their guns, I don’t want to be part of a sport that runs scared of twitter bullying.

45465_1384791340.jpg And last but not least, to all those people who wrote this team off.
To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

| Seems like people are not allowed a personal opinion on this matter. Good for you Trinity players, for not just following on like sheep.

They are allowed a personal opinion as long as it’s the same as theirs for what it’s worth it was up there with the best Trinity performances I’ve seen and without a ball kicked, long may it continue.

| They're just living in some weird reality bubble
How can they not know, all they have to do is read what's happening in the real World, just put social media down for 10 ******* minutes.
Part of me thinks that, and then there's the other part that fears that they don't actually care, that all that matters is book perception, corporate political interests and their own narcissistic fulfillment.
BLM is an import, everything about it is poisoned beyond repair, if we want to show support for racial equality, and we absolutely do, then we have do something that doesn't appear to support a radical political ideology.
People will say, well we don't support the political bit, just the racial equality bit, well that ship has sailed unfortunately.

| The club has fallen victim to the ubiquitous plague of social media.
We all read the clubs statement prior to the match and are well aware of the club's stance on equality, inclusiveness and racism.
However, all that some on social media knew about it was a still photo of a team in white standing up 'opposing' a team in yellow who were 'taking a knee'. That's all they needed. There was no context and they are so quick to be offended and desperate to find anything that matches and 'justifies' their own views that they don't stop to check any facts. Then it spreads like wildfire amongst 'like-minded' souls in their social bubble echo chamber. It's difficult to get the truth out once the false perception has made it all the way round the world.
We need now to double-down on our stance to mark our rejection of racism in our own way, although next time it needs to more overtly obvious to the casual observer. The club's record should speak for itself, but such things don't count to the frothy-mouthed twitterati.

Listen Dunkirk get in touch with him and let him know how you feel. I will. He’s a 3rd rate hack pandering to social media by trying to look right on. Because these trolls spend their lives on twitter they seem much more than what they are. Thus the more feeble minded assume that’s where it’s at.
If he starts to hear a lot of noise coming the other way I guarantee he will change tack. If he does you will see him for the fraud he is and if he doesn’t then fair doos as I suppose he obviously believes in what he says though I don’t really believe he will do the latter.
Until we are as loud as they are they will keep being heard far to much.

| So we're going to hound Phil Caplin now whilst at the same time criticsing others for doing the same to Michael Carter? Just because we don't agree with his opinion?

EXACTLY!
it's no good criticising someone and then doing the same back to them.
It may make you feel better but it doesn't solve anything. It just justifies what went on in the first place.

| You have to kneel to prove you support racial equality.
If you don't kneel you are racists, the inference is pretty clear.
Clearly a ridiculous position to adopt, a zero sum argument from people that should know better.
I think he knows, but he's a slave to perception and just has to tow the line.

It’s called right of reply. He gives his views, I give mine, he denounces my club, I call him out, he reaches a bigger audience than I, he has more influence than me, but that doesn’t mean he’s right in what he saying.
Why is it right that the ones with the loudest voices Think they know best. Do you agree with him saying, take the knee, or you don’t play. Is that the dictatorial world you want to live in? I’m not sure if that would even be legal to tell someone to take the knee or else.
