As a neutral I just watched that interview and I think CC looks like a broken man, I thought he looked close to tears at one point. Feel for the guy, he was a great player and always gave 100% so it must break his heart to see people not giving 100%.
Also, from reading the comments what has happened with Fifita ?

| For me supporting wakey is the done thing I’m a wakey lad and have followed them for nearly 50 years, but trying to get the next generation to love seeing your team churn out this tripe week after week is another story altogether ,let’s not forget these are the future of our club .Im finding it harder to keep my two grandsons interested in wakey although they both play the game on a weekend , I can’t keep them interested in the games where we have been on sky. Its not about the defeats it’s the manner of those defeats which I find most unsettling, the same lacklustre performances week in week out .But true to wakey’ s erratic performances of late I wouldn’t be surprised if Wigan rested some players and we come away with a win on fri ,here’s hoping anyway .my point of this rant is that the die hards will always turn up , its the floating and new fans that we urgently need as the life blood of the club .Finally I don’t have allegiance to players or coaches at our club as I’ve seen plenty come and go over the years ,I remember when Cunningham who had folklore status at saints had a bad run , the club had no qualms about getting shut, it’s never nice but the club has to be bigger than both the players or the coaches and no one should be untouchable.

| I think most Wakefield folk are quite happy to be honest supporting the club, when they can see there is effort on the pitch.
It's usually only when that effort looks to be lacking, that they question their faith, and ask themselves why they go to watch them.
Unfortunately, just recently, that lack of effort by the players is showing.
It's ok for certain people to say just write this years seasons ticket off so to speak and class it as a donation. At the moment, these players still have a job, the club is in business, but sadly, that can't be said for everyone. I wonder how many fans have been laid off. Sometimes, you have to cut your cloth accordingly, and think can I afford to, right now cough up money for something really enjoyable. Certain people need to be more realistic and look at the real world.
How much marketing do you see the club do across the city. It didnt used to be much, and I dont think, other than social media, they do. There are people who dont use this, and wont see it.

| Agree you can not put lack of effort by the players down to a season with no relegation. This is the team We have got for next season maybe without one of two off our better players going next year. This coaching department these players are playing for will not get any better and also the players..The damage as been done by panic buying in close season and this .Most of this team would \ will struggle in the championship

| Quote: RickK "PT is correct, if you were choosing a club to support based on a wining ratio and competition success then Wakefield probably would not be your choice. I believe for most people supporting any club, any sport, any person is an emotive choice combining many factors, born local, family history/connections, your mate plays for them, you like the team colours, the club history but just for success that's really football thing in my view, latching on to regular success and not the club or sport.'"
There's a lot of that knocking about.....
You're right about the rest though Rick.
I wouldn't bother with RL tbh if I couldn't support/watch Wakey.
I must be a glutton for punishment though, as my football team is Torquay United

| Quote: 1315trinity "Quite simple really.
Money.
MC and his team have worked wonders and, no doubt, at huge cost to them, but clubs such as Saints, Leeds, Warrington, Wigan, Hull and even Cas' get gates we can only dream of.
Until the Wakefield public come out in bigger numbers, which let's face it isn't going to happen until we are more successful, or we get a sugar daddy prepared to pump millions in, then we will continue as we have since we entered SL.'"
Simple question to you, why don't the Wakefield Fans not the Wakefield public turn out to see the team play, is it because the players are bad?, and if so why did the CEO buy them on the coaches recommendation, or are they that stupid they can't take instruction, or is it because they don't know what they're supposed to be doing because the coach is out of his depth and lacking ideas, look at those clubs you have mentioned they bring they're youngsters through and coach them properly, our youngsters are going backwards, Jowitt and Batch are two prime examples, all the players are asked to take as much as 30% drop in wages because the club has no money, yet the coach brings in players which are no better than what we have, too much business done on the golf course unfortunately, as for Chester clueless, one last question how do you think these "sugar daddies" get their money, do you think it's letting the likes of Chester spend it for them, would you give him money to spend on players?, it's one thing identifying good players we all can do that, but it's another thing bringing the best out of them.

| I’m hoping we can still pick up a couple of wins here and there. Although there’s no relegation I wouldn’t like to lose every post lockdown game.

| Not sure when we play Salford but if we catch them sometime near their Challenge Cup Semi Final they might rest a few and have their minds focused on that rather than us.
Hull KR now have nothing to play for and may not maintain the focus they’ve shown in the last 4 weeks. If they dip in form we have a chance against them but it’s likely to be a bottom of the table decider so I wouldn’t bet on it.

| This sums it up we are not confident we will win on our own merits but are relying on other teams to be resting players or have their minds elsewhere.

| I find it interesting that our own fans think we’ve a chance of beating Wigan, Salford or Hull KR if they rest players...it’s giving an excuse to teams we don’t support, yet when we are missing so many of our best players we are still expected to be winning?
Go on the virtual terrace and ask any opposition fan how they perceive us...do they see us as a play off contender, a mid table side or a team who’ll be scrapping it out near the bottom. I’d be absolutely astounded if at least 75% don’t say the latter.
If we are at full strength week in week out with few injuries and disruptions we might just prove the majority wrong and flirt with the play offs like we have done recently...when we are continually missing half of our best players we are finding our natural position in the table...the place where the vast majority of fans outside of Trinity fans would see us.
Look at our squad and how many match winners we have, I mean top players who can come up with that moment of brilliance, have an individual outstanding game that can turn us from a losing team to a winning one...
Fifita and Johnstone are two definites without question...outside of those two who is there?
Tupou is a tremendous player when on form but I can’t think of many times where his individual performance has single handedly win us a game?
At a push another could be Miller when at his absolute best...
Three of those haven’t been in lately...one seems to have had a crisis in confidence, one seems to have acted a bit like a baby and the other has been desperately unlucky with injuries...
Without our potential match winners though and the constant tinkering with the spine we look a very ordinary side.
How much of that is Chesters fault? He’s proved in the past when things are going well we are capable of playing some good stuff and upsetting the odds...
We need big Dave to come back with the right attitude because he can make a huge difference...if he’s playing at his best he lifts the whole pack to another level and if we manage to get a bit of confidence back (which is huge in sport) I’m sure we’ll play much better and pick off a few wins..

Very good summary.
I'd throw Arona into the mix there, not on ability as whilst he is a good player his attitude does so much for our side. We haven't been the same since he got seriously injured at Huddersfield away.
