I've always been of the opinion that to be anti-Israel is not the same as to be antisemitic.

I know more cases are coming to light because more testing is being carried out locally, but it seems to prove we all still need to be careful.
810 more coronavirus cases diagnosed in Wakefield
Public Health England (PHE) figures show that 1,602 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Thursday (July 2) in Wakefield, up from 792 the same time on Wednesday.

The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government's mass testing programme.

The rate of infection in Wakefield now stands at 464 cases per 100,000 people, higher than the England average of 436.

Quote: Dunkirk Spirit "So, are you saying that because the actions of our forefathers centuries ago,(not just the English) that criticism of any country, community, isn’t allowed, and some nations should be allowed to continue doing, because our forefathers did so.'"

Quite the opposite.
I'm saying criticise the country not the people.

Lets face it we can't criticise other countries whilst refusing to admit our own wrongs. Dresden was a war crime for example that we refuse to admit.

Quote: Dunkirk Spirit "I’m sorry, but I have to say I think you are wrong. You, me, everyone is responsible for our own actions. I’m sure you are not a child, but a responsible adult. Responsible people should set a good example and do the right thing. My wife is Shielded. Therefore I have to be extremely careful when I go out usually twice a week locally. I, like most people would love to do the normal thing, but sensible people have to do the right thing for themselves and others, and not to use the stupid actions of one man as an excuse to do the same stupid things that could undo all the sacrifices most people have made these past few weeks. I repeat. We are all responsible for our actions.'"

You are right that we are indeed responsible for our own actions.
However, the direction and example should be set by those in charge and they have been found wanting.
Even the PM's dad, who is in the over 70's group, went of on an "essential" trip to check that his properties were covid safe.

Not only have high level government ministers and advisors pleased themselves, when called out, to a man, they have been backed by the PM and allowed to carry on. What message does this send to the masses ?
Is it, stick to the guidelines and help keep everyone safe or, is it, do as you please ?

As for "responsible adults, they will be out getting severely hammered tonight.
By 9.30, social distancing will be done and the quest for the next pint will take priority over EVERYTHING and all this, encouraged by everyone from the PM, Prince William etc.

As I said, this is all about leadership and setting an example. d040.gif

Let’s be honest here, the Government have only allowed pubs to reopen again so they can’t be blamed for a second spike. I mean, they’ve relaxed lockdown restrictions for overseas travel even though a lot of countries haven’t (for us).

Can I get a pint of what you are drinking! Do you live in a parallel conspiracy theory area or are you just anti govt or the General in the Hindsight Brigade?

Everyone is responsible for their actions.
You seem (as usual) to have forgotten about all the bell e*ds who decided before the 4th July to go to the beach and take part in protest marches......

Nice one BLM.
I decided (my choice) to go and support my local - and I have to say that everything was in place and correctly adhered to by everyone.

Same here BG, the local Club had nailed it with the restrictions and great to catch up with mates. Very quiet really, about 50 people over the couple of hours we were there, a good natter about all things rugby icon_biggrin.gif icon_thumb.gif

I think the vast majority of us are using common sense. Shopping, going to the pub and going to work are tasks we now undertake using a completely different set of rules to pre-covid days. Doesn't make for news though or click-bait on Twitter. Everyone just focuses on these individuals and groups of morons who think only of themselves. I think The Guardian has been the biggest culprit (after Tovarish Wizay of course).

Visited Wetherspoons at Garforth this afternoon. everybody seemed to be acting very civilised, and I've got to admit all their covid protection protocol seemed to be well thought out and being adhered to. pre- covid it was always packed on a Sunday, but everyone seemed safely spaced. Hope it's the same in all their outlets.

Not in Ponte apparently a bit of fighting took place!
