I thought putting the word "fans" in inverted commas was unnecessary, because it was clearly a dig at those who moan about squad quality. I understand his frustrations but those "fans" buy tickets and merchandise. A waiter doesn't have to like the diner. They just have to pretend they do to get the repeat business.

Other than that, a good honest appraisal of where we are.

Well we’ve kept the majority of the better overseas players and I think all of the non quota that we feel can be a decent squad player at worst next season.

Certainly dont need a complete overhaul that most newly promoted clubs do - Fev for example have a lot of experienced players that would need replacing

Certainly more optimistic than previous seasons, should we get promoted

Exactly this. The press release was spot on until that. I don't want us to lose more any more fans as a club or put people off attending who might not have been and I just think little things like that do have an impact and it can be easily controlled by not being daft. It's nit picking to an extent but it was such an easy thing to not do.

Christ. Just looked at the table. How easily could we of been competing for the top 6 with 3/4 games we lost that we shouldn’t of. Scary

Very frustrating and MC makes a point about it in this release. If only the players had pulled their finger out earlier who knows where we could have ended up!

We look like two completely different sides from early in the season, seems to be a running theme with us these last few years unfortunately.

Some of what you say applies but I think Willie Poching has had a change of direction as well. It's very notable -that some fringe and younger players have been used in recent games and they've let no-one down.
Perhaps some of these players in their own positions should have been tried sooner. Anyway it's good to see we do have strength in depth after all.

Think the main reason why we look better is ,we have had a settled three-quarters line over the last part of the season .Let's not get carried away we got some big player's leaving .We got to go after a decent half and 2 forwards .Think giving Gaskell the six shirt will be a bad mistake and will bring little to the attack.Will be the same as Hood does a job but does not move the team forward,

It is quite a good, and honest statement, overall, saying where we are at as a club, on the playing front.

Having read it in detail a few times, there is an air of sarcasm, though, I feel, targeting a small pocket of fans. That is ‘fans’, which I don’t think was necessary.

I was actually reading some old threads the other night, some of which Daddycool posted, and there were some comments put in there, which when you read them, there was a hint of sarcasm in the wording.

He doesn’t need to do that, and will struggle to win some people over. In fact one poster said to him, that he doesn’t help himself at times.

This for the record is not Carter bashing, its an observation, coming from years of reading correspondence
