Bailey was a liability 2nd half when the forwards needed to step up for Rovers. Thought once Wakey respected the ball we pulled away but were always on par or winning the open play.

Heard a lot around me complain when Wakey spent 1 or 2 sets just attack the left wing incessantly. Not so loudly when we'd scored the next few tries waltzing past the knackered defenders.

TBH I think you're under selling us there. We were on occasions playing a brand of Rugby, last seen here in 2004 and a bit in 2008. Whether we can keep it up I don't know but there is a bit more to it than just the basics.

I thought we looked very good and at times bossed HKR. We were constantly looking for openings and good to see people trying different things
I thought the changes prior to half time was a master stroke by Webster and Great vocal support from the North standees was like an extra man

There will be plenty of time for negativity this season I'm sure and those who wish to wallow in it will get their chance - but until then can't we just enjoy the moment - sometimes things just don't need pointing out, just enjoy and heap praise - 4 points in 2 games come on

The pleasing thing, is that when we get a penalty, we use it right and come away with points or keep the pressure on.
Too many times down the years we have had a glut of penalties and come away with nothing, then the other team goes the length of the field and scores.
Think the only time we didn't make a penalty count was when Hall failed to find touch!

I was at the game today , thought you played superbly at times , some great tries and a good expansive game,
still some things to work on , thought letting the ball bounce was a bad idea, and sometimes passes were thrown out blind..but a part from that i think Wakey have every reason to feel that this year can be a good one.

For me it was a lazy pick us to finish bottom. Just because we finished 12th last year. We finished 12th due to a poor start from a horrendous pre-season, and a few close defeats putting top 8 out of the question with a few games to go and coasting home, getting busted players fixed up etc...

Think we've recruited very well this season and it's the strongest first 20 I've ever seen us have. After that we are like MOST teams and will struggle if injuries cripple us. Webbo identified early that at times we were a bit soft up front so recruited accordingly.

We've a decent set of forwards to lay the platform and plenty of real clever players in Smith, Miller, McShane, Godinet, Hall....

Happy for teams to just keep under-estimating us though because they will just come unstuck. Promises to be an exciting season...with a bit of luck injury wise there's no reason why we can't get in the top 8!
