| Quote: Tricky2309 "The problem is YC are small fry in the developer stakes so I would imagine newcold may have given them a profit for now and they can sit on the rest for now in the hope the requirement for the stadium at NM is no longer applicable at some stage in the future.
All through this process I have been hoping YC would sell to a bigger developer who would have the ability to deliver on the stadium as part of filling the development'"
Makes you think that the Council should have vetted them better with them being a small developer, at least to make sure they could meet their proposed obligations. It would have taken them no time to see if the Company had anything like the funds, partnerships etc to see if this project was even possible in the first place.
It still makes me think, if Yorkcourt wanted to build a Newcold and one or two other warehouses, they could have found elsewhere that would have been less hassle to acquire and far cheaper. Obviously that's from my opinion from the outside looking in.

Not sure if it would have been feasible but I have often thought it would have been better if they werent allowed to lay a brick on the site until they had evidence of enough tenants signed up to trigger and pay for the stadium build. That would have focused YC attention on doing the right thing because they wouldn't make a penny until the stadium build was financed and began

| Excellent news. Congratulations to all concerned in the negotiations. Hope any redevelopment doesn't transfer the ground into all-seater stands though. it's not quite the same sitting down. WELL DONE!!!!!

I think that you are jumping the gun.
There is a long way to go before we see any building work at the ground (unless you count the SB demolition)

Makes sense, pity the Council didn't see it the same way.

| If I remember correctly, the original demand from the SofS was that the stadium must be built first. York Court then argued vehemently that they should be allowed to "build out" a large amount of warehousing to raise funds for the stadium build. They were granted the 60,000Sqm allowance and therein lay the mechanism for shafting the whole Community Stadium initiative.

So what's stopping the warehousing project moving forward? Lack of demand?

| I see various organisations are looking at potential options for the old Thornes Park school/college now that the use of the buildings is becoming limited. Well I can think of one particular option which could've regenerated the whole area, sadly that ship sailed 7 years ago.

Thornes Park would have been perfect but sadly 8 years since that was pulled and resulted in us all outside the town hall.

Surely it would have been easier to say new stadium at BV as that's what you're asking for
Can't see it being anything near that good, maybe a new East stand with proper facilities especially corporate and a general tidy of the rest of the ground would be the most we could expect.
It's way less than we deserve but at the moment it's better than nowt. At least it's a starting point and the rest can come in time. Truth is if you can keep the corporates and the sitting down season ticket folks happy then that's where the bulk of the money comes from. I'm happy to slum it on the north stand so long as the club has the capability to earn big money of those folks. As it stands if I had a business I wouldn't want to be taking them for a day in the Benidorm flats.

| Yep at the very most I can see it as a Complete East stand redevelopment and also West Stand but the rest will be basically a good tidy up. Which tbh with at this point I'd be a very happy man.
