No excuses, simply they were not at the game and the best side won. How many more kickings will we get this year?

Only saw the 2nd half, just no pressure on their line, penalty after penalty giving them field position. The left side defence was shocking, could not tell with online feed if it was just Mellars and Cockayne or lack of 2nd row cover. Again too many individual mistakes and poor kicking out of hand. A few points of bad luck again; Fox getting caught with the new dead ball rule that lead to a try, dodgy forward call (although BC may have dropped it anyway), dubious stripping calls when it is the ball carrier not having hold on it, players dragged into touch when it could easily have been a penalty.

That seemed to really one-sided; Les Cats got rescued by Mr Thaler on numerous occasions from what looked like poor ball security - when it went the other way, we were deemed to have knocked on.

That drag into touch was as blatant as you'll see all season - one of our U13's got penalised for it this morning, in almost identical circumstances!

agree on the ball drag, I was sat just in front of that incident, though it was only about a two metre drag which may not have looked too bad from where Thaler was positioned so I can why it wasn't given

generally I thought the ref did ok - a few borderline decisions for both sides but the correct result in the end with the Catalans about 20 points better IMO and that's not taking anything away from Wakey who really threw the ball around but couldn't penetrate near the line - their left side of defence looked unable to cope with the power of Menzies,Duport and Blanch but that's not the refs fault, is it ? Two bad handling errors under the posts leading to tries plus the embarassing Menzies intercept can hardly be the fault of Mr Thaler can it ?

Great support from the Wakey fans as usual - a real credit to their club and RL

cant believe some people want to blame the ref,i havent seen the game but cant believe this is the reason for defeat.i myself think there is only one place to look r aggar he is a complete waste of space.we cannot defend we cant deal with kicks in anyway and thats a problem we have had since pre season but as not improved one little bit.team selection is baffeling too how for example wood and john play when by far two better players in wildie and ellis have been loaned out.we will never do anything under him as he isnt up to it

I thought the Wakey lads played well but were outplayed by a classier side - Wakey lack the extra class IMO that's all
Some great performances by some of the boys especially Wilkes and Amor (when he was on the pitch - did he pick up an injury ?) John, Kirmond and Raleigh etc did ok but simply couldn't match the power of the Catalans - the conditions were difficult and the effort put in by the Wakey players can't be criticised - as I say, IMO you just lack the class...

Where has anyone said we lost because of the ref, calling out the ref for poor calls he's made isn't the same as blaming him for the defeat is it?

Thaler gave the majority of 50:50 to Catalans and I guess your'e going to get that when he his reffing us for fear of bias. There were others such as where they kicked and the ball hit Trout on the back of his neck/shoulder and he gave another six - hardly played for it - got it wrong in my opinion and there were others.

Having said that the calls had no bearing on the result. We were second best and beaten by the better team - they are 3rd and we're 11th so hardly surprising.

Just got back from Perpignan, if we'd played the game sunday we would have won, you wouldn't believe the change in weather, from 35deg and not a cloud in the sky to 16deg wind & rain on sunday, then 28 deg and sunny monday

We just didn't have it in us to beat a very good top 4 side in conditions that suited them, our team travelled 24hrs before the game and the trip took 12hours from leaving wakefield, hardley ideal preperarion.
Wakey well supported again in the south of france, defo going again next year for the 5th time
